Got my tickets via the Trent FM Arena website, gonna be in Block 15 and got a Hotel sorted too so will be visiting Nottingham for the first time and for my first big fight. Really excited about this, do you reckon there will be any chance of watching the Abraham-Taylor fight before hand?Comment

Nottingham born boxer Carl ‘The Cobra’ Froch is coming back to Trent FM Arena Nottingham on Saturday October 17th to take on his toughest challenge yet, going head-to-head against unbeaten American boxer Andre ‘The Matrix’ Dirrell in The Super Six World Boxing Classic.
The groundbreaking new tournament will ultimately crown the world’s best Super Middleweight boxer and produce a strong candidate for the best pound for pound fighter on the planet.
Dirrell has come out all guns blazing ahead of his clash with Froch, dismissing him as “,…the weakest of the Super Six line up…” and Froch is out to prove him wrong! The line up includes WBA champion Mikkel Kessler, IBF Middleweight title holder Arthur Abraham, former undisputed Middleweight champion Jermain Taylor and 2004 Olympic Gold medallist Andrew Ward.
What is The Super Six World Boxing Classic?
The tournament sees boxers compete for the WBC and WBA super middleweight title.
Each boxer will fight three bouts against different opponents in the round robin Group Stage.
Points will be awarded after each bout as follows:
Win – 2 points (with a 1-point KO/TKO bonus)
Draw – 1 point
Loss – 0 points
All bouts will be contested under the unified rules of boxing and are scheduled to last 12 rounds; Following the Group Stage, the top four qualify for the Semi-Finals with the bottom two eliminated and the Semi-Finals will match the point leader against the fourth place fighter and the second versus the third in single-elimination bouts. The winners of the Semi-Final bouts advance to the Final.
Carl Froch – Stats
* Carl was born in Nottingham on July 2nd 1977
* He’s the current WBC Super Middleweight champion after beating Jean Pascal on points for the vacant title last December.
* After knocking out Jermain Taylor while defending his belt in April this year he remains unbeaten in 25 professional fights.
* Height: 6’1”
* Weight: 168lb
* Reach: 201cm
