If you look at the amount of talent in British amateur boxing right now, I think you could be heading for a new golden age in 5-10 years time. British, especially English boxing hasn't been this strong for as long as I can remember. Funny thing is, Amir Khan's silver medal is a big reason why the ABA has such massive funding now, which in turn is the main reason it's going so well. It takes a lot of money to develop talent nowadays, and England's spending a lot of it on just that. The results should spill over into the pro's in a few years.

Exactly. Haye is the future of British and world heavyweight boxing. Calzaghe will lose to Hopkins anyway.

I was at the amateur championships and two British guys did great.
Joe Murray and Frankie Gavin fought really well, so it's not like Biritsh boxing is dead or dying.

Lennox Lewis has been the only British fighter to have gone to the US and dominated, we'll see how Joe C does against B-Hop. Haye v Klitcko or Peter would be good fights.

It would be awesome watching these guys go at it like the bare-knuckle British fighters from the 1600s!
