  • Cotto wants that victim....

He has had great victories, but when you talk about Miguel Cotto and Floyd Mayweather, he always comes up with excuses -- I'm not the opponent for him, I'm not ready for him," Cotto said to the Grand Rapids Press. "I earned all I have now. I worked for that. Over the next year, year and a half, I can take the big names. At 147 pounds, the welterweight division, to me, it's the hottest division in boxing today. Margarito, Mayweather, Hatton, Kermit Cintron, Paul Williams and me. It could be three years of great boxing. I just want the big fights, the big names, the real fights. I wish the rest of the opponents want the same."

He has no choice but to call out Mayweather now. His people have kept him away from Floyd for years saying he is not ready he has been going to Mayweather fights since at least 05' when Mayweather embarrased his friend, sparring partner fellow Boriqua Henry Bruselles. Mayweather or De La Hoya are his best paydays and he knows it so now he wants to start chirping. Cotto to me is an easier fight for FMjr. than Hatton because he won't pressure FMjr. as much is easier to hit and very susceptible to uppercuts.

Cotto is ready for Mayweather, Cotto has proven that he can handle fast fighters with Judah and Mosley, for me Cotto will be the one to defeat Mayweather.

cotto has all it got to defeat mayweather... i think he's the only boxer out there who has the chance of beating mayweather... cotto fights with heart... mayweather fights with guts... guts to run when he feels he's about to get KO'd

yeah, cotto is now ready to face FMjr. two years ago cotto is struggling to make a name for himself. now he has proven to the world that he can be a great champ, a real fighting champ... not a chicken "dancing, running" champ in the person of mayweather. had mayweather stand toe-to-toe with Oscar, mayweather would have been KO'd.

[ANSWER=DNICE;DTj4] I give cotto alot of respect due he's came along way but at the same time he has been pampber in his career in there's nothing wrong with his team looking out for him always picking his fights that's what a good manager does. consider them both up in coming in their careers FMjr has fought fighters like emmauel birden etc, it's not like FMjr has'nt been in a war before but at this sage of his career why? because if cotto can make the fight look less hard you cotto fans would'nt say a word also there's one thing about the opponents cottos face they are by far not on the same level as Floyd because Mayweather trains for the opponent that does'nt exist. Now how does a fighter train like that

Hey cotto fan i give it to cotto he's tough an strong remember that mayweather is not like Judah, or Mosley, but anything could happen in the sport of boxing if anyone beats Floyd it is himself.[DNICE;DTj4]

[Reply= DNICE;DTj4] OKAY my friend yes cotto came along way in yes he has beating the likes of JUDAH in you have failed to mention that he hit Zab down low not once but twice in yeah Zab over reacted during the second hit downstairs in the coco nuts. Now on the cross dresser Goldie formally known as Oscar he could'nt even catch Floyd because he has no foot work the same as cotto no foot work . cotto could **** an he's one tough S-O-B an yes he is the WBA champ at 147 him in Mayweather are no walk in the park this will be the fight of the year in 08 but my money is on my boy Floyd.

How the hell has he been pampered? He has taken so many O's away it isn't even worth commenting on this. Not to mention his list of victims includes a few guys who are currently running the jrWW division, Torres, Malignaggi. Add to that a very dangerous hard hitting Judah and another slick boxer in Quintana (who was also undefeated and had soundly beaten rising contender Joel Julio. He also defeated a less than prime but still sharp SSM.

Take into account that they also had a signed fight with dangerous high/risk, low/reward Margarito (before Margarito pulled out to face mandatory). Mind you he has only been at full WW for about a year and a half.

So tell me which of these fights was he being pampered in? The Urkal fight is the only one that comes close but that was a mandatory in order to keep belt.
