I think it's USA TV Production broadcasting only 4x3 for outside of the USA. They really don't give a **** about the rest of the world. They can broadcast HD from Europe back to the USA, but not the other way around. Setanta wouldn't have a choice in what format they get it in. I'm not trying to defend Setanta because they're a bunch of **** heads down here in Australia as well. You're lucky you actually got todays fight with your subscription. We didn't get it.

I watched the first fight in my house then the second down a friends. Neither TV had these lines you speak of. Are you sure its not just your TV?

on the standard freeview it had the black lines because it was a 4:3 broadcast. i could get rid of it but it slightly distorts the picture as its not genuine 16:9.

Mine has these lines too, and does for most Setanta stuff. Does my head in to be honest, makes the people on the screen look tall and skinny and the camera doesn't seem to focus properly.

Couldn't possibly be some freak occurance which only occurs with certain brands of tv... could it?
