despite rawling getting excited whenever lawton tapped khan, i don't think khan was ever in trouble in that fight, and his all round performance was ten times better than the limond fight.

if he continues to improve like that i don't see any reason why he can't beat both earl and thaxton comfortably

I love the way most people on here say "Thaxton would **** this kid", when they've never even seen Thaxton ****ing fight! Look on Youtube, see how many Thaxton fights you can find. Most Brits have never seen Thaxton fight, let alone any Yanks. Yet they seem to prophecise "Thaxton would kill him", based on what exactly, heresay and an encounter with Ricky Hatton???

Thaxton got carried the distance by Scott Lawton a few years ago. Thaxton is now older and slower and wings his punches. Yes, he's poweful but he can be comprehensively outboxed by Khan. Last night we saw a patient Khan who only attacked when he needed to; getting in, letting shots rip and then stepping back out, making his opponent miss and ripping in again.

A Khan-Thaxton fight would last longer than the Lawton fight but the result would be the same; Khan by stoppage. Even the haters know that deep down.

i think you are confused. the first time thaxton and lawton fought was earlier this year when jono tko'd lawton in round 7...although he did seem to struggle with the height difference in that fight.

but as you said jon thaxton isn't getting any younger and although he carries the most power out of todays brit lightweights, he can get outboxed easily like he was in the fight against stewart the other night...but he's always got a punchers chance and will provide the first real test for khans chin.

my personal feeling now is that khan will stop thaxton on cuts. i don't think he'll knock him out as thaxton has a decent chin, but i can see the ref jumping in or him having to be pulled out after khan makes a bloody mess of his face - remember thaxton marks up even worse than ricky hatton and although he has good head movement khan will be able to pick up off easily.

It's still early days for Khan, he has yet to develop his skills, his only 20 yrs old, he needs these fights like lawton, to prepare him for the big shots...

So far he has proved his critics wrong, but we will see if he is the real deal when it comes to fighting the main talent...

Personally, Khan should easily beat these sons of bitches, but he still needs more ring time...
