Not ALL Sikhs carry 'small daggers'. Only devout Sikhs carry them. They are called 'Kirpan' and are NOT to be used as a weapon. Sikhs in the past (300+ years ago when Sikhism was still a very young religion) underwent a lot of persecution from the ****** and Hindu rulers in India. In order to defend their beliefs they fought back. The Kirpan symbolises bravery and the willingness to defend the weak and innocent.

They are not to be used offensively, only defensively. If a Kirpan is unsheathed, it must be used, it's not in the least bit ceremonial or for show.

but Akaash Bhatia, he's a cool dude, sikh (like me), and he's really approachable. i think he has a good future in front of him. his style is pretty flashy and cool, although i dont think he on the level of Amir Khan yet, at all!

we have the other olympic guy in India, Vijender Singh, but he never went pro. he's gone into Bollywood and shows and crap like that.. oh boy...

i hope there'll be more good Indian and Pakistani fighters coming up. gonna be fun, show the global nature of boxing.
