    Earnie Shavers!

I am watching Earnie Shavers Vs. Larry Holmes, and I have seen Shavers Vs. Lyle, Norton, Young, Ali, Holmes, Ellis and a few more. What a warrior, its like taking the chin, stamina, and boxing skills of Evander Holyfield and tramsforming it into Punching Power, keeping the massive heart!

So my question is, would you consider Earnie Shavers, the hardest hitter in recorded history, a all-time great? I would.

Earnie didn't have the chin of Evander Holyfield, if he he did, he would of been even higher up, in the rankings of all time heavyweights.

Leme rephrase, Shavers is Holyfield with his chin, stamina, and skills transformed into pure punching power.

phew, thought you were saying Shavers had a good chin for a minute there! lol
Yeah Shavers was a good fighter. He had a deadly punch but he failed when he stepped up to fight the best and thus never won a title. Without his punch he wouldn't really have anything else.
Like his real career I would say Shavers is a top contender to be an all time great but he just falls short IMO.

he always got his title shots against god smart boxers with good chins if he managed to fight norton when he was champ he would have got it easy.
in any other era he would have been champ.

Indeed but you could say the same about Cooney, Lyle and Peter etc. Any boxer with a very hard punch would overthrow norton but your can't base their potential greatness on that.

if anything shavers power is overrated . He never damaged his opponents like tyson did . Tyson burst ear drums, fractured eye sockets, cheekbones , broke vertebraes, smashed noses, broke ribs. pierced lungs. Infact tysons sparring partners used to end up in the parademics when tyson was going all out in sparring just before a fight . Infacy i have never heard of shavers smashing any of his opponents bones or sending his sparring parners to intensive care.

wtf he broke bones, gave people whiplash and tauma, exploded gloves and knocked guys cold with one shot.

his sparring parners to intensive care
People were too scared to spar with him!

Yeah I don't recall Tyson ever hitting so hard he caused his ****ing glove to explode with the impact. Case closed, Shavers hit harder. Please stop posting.
