Who do you guys feel should have retired earlier or what current boxers do you feel should retire now?

As for me, I think Louis and Ali should've retired earlier. Tyson should retire too, as well as Holyfield (even though I'm a huge fan, the man's just getting too old).

Joe Louis fought far longer than he should have done. But he done it because of his financial difficulties regarding tax. This meant he wasn't fighting for his benefit, but to pay off debts.

I also agree with Ali. It's hard for boxers to retire because they miss the glitz of fight night.

There are many reasons why fighters fight, one being because they can. There seems to be only one reason to retire, because they no longer can. I got out at an early stage of my pro career, I saw what the game will/could do to you, no matter how good you may be.

Yeah it sucks that Louis had to come back because of financial trouble. He was still a monster in the ring, but he just wasn't what he once was.

As soon as someone loses their motivation, it's time to go.

When he re-entered the ring, he lost a lot of his famed hand speed. He still had his devastating power, but his heart just wasn't in the fight game anymore. He was more interested in playing his golf and wooing the girls.
