Vilas said at the Locche title fight in Colombia, a gunman pulled a gun on Monzon and threatened to rob them and Monzon refused to back down and his bold bravery even made the gunman run away! LOL Incredible anecdote about Monzon's coconuts.

Yes old retired dulled edged Monzon would have lost to Marvelous. But prime Monzon? 60-40 Monzon wins.

Monzon's last fight was at 34 in 1977. Hagler won the title in 1980. SO Monzon would have been 37 then if they fought in 80 in a rush fight. Hagler and Monzon just missed each other by a few years. Hagler just was not ready for Monzon until after Monzon retired.
