Why Hearns?

He was stopped by Leonard, Hagler and Barkley. That's it. Each stoppage was fairly forgivable. I wouldn't argue he had a great chin. I'd certainly concede the thing that let him down first. But his chin wasn't particularly bad. True, to be a legend you tend to need a remarkable chin, but Hearns' poor chin is just another misconception.

Cheeky? He is supposedly "the most skilled technical HW ever" not some bar room brawler with no defense. No. He had a the weakest chin a HW could have, which is a credit to his heart to survive all those bums decking his arse.

Surprising since Louis had a massive skull with a thick square jawline. That's usually the prototype of fighters with great chins.

Ishida had around 20 wins with 6 KOs (around that neighborhood).
I was such a huge Kirkland fan too even after the loss.
Great recovery abilities & stamina, but a true china chin.

Good calls, lads. Hearns probably not the weakest chin in the history of great in boxers, but I had to start the ball rolling somewhere. ATGs with terrible chins are rare items. Hearns probably had an average chin. But average is awfully mediocre for an ATG. Get it?
