Superman vs Muhammad Ali

Anyone ever read this comic book? It came out in the 1970's and Muhammad Ali and Superman teamed up to stop an alien invasion.

Basically, alien invaders arrive and threaten to blow up the world unless Earth's best fighter fights and defeats their best fighter. Superman and Muhammad Ali both volunteer to fight the alien fighter. So Superman and Ali have to fight each other to determine who will get to represent Planet Earth. Superman and Ali fight under a red sun so that Superman will not have his powers. Ali easily defeats Superman since Superman doesn't have his super powers.

Anyway, the comic book ends with Ali predicting the round he will knock out the alien champion, which he does in 4 rounds and Superman ends up stopping the alien space ship from blowing up everything.

This hit the stands shortly after Ali lost to Spinks. I remember, as a kid, looking at it and thinking it was BS as Ali couldn't even beat Spinks. So I didn't buy it. Wish I would've now, but hey, I was ten and didn't have a clue about comic collectables.

I felt the same way. Why, who on earth thinks it is a good idea to limit Supe rather that elevate Ali? Terrible. I wanted Ali to do some absurd **** like punch so fast he causes friction fire in the atmosphere around his fist, like a comet. Who wants to see Supe box without powers? That's ******, faster than Flash, harder than Goku, but, none of that in this comic book? What the damn hell.

Still cool to see the panels, but that was a big ball dropped I reckon.
