I’d rank him up there near the top in showmanship, he was instrumental in resurrecting boxing during the 1960’s. A very important figure in boxing. As for sportsmanship, I rank him lower. He was disrespectful towards his opponents and not a very humble winner, which I realize was part of the showmanship, but he often took it too far.

Manny opened up the vast 3 billion Asian market though if sportsman means marketing, maybe Jordan hard to top with all the soft lad support.
Michael Jordan: 6x NBA Champion, 6x NBA Finals MVP, 5x NBA MVP, 14x NBA All-Star, 3x NBA All-Star Game MVP.

Wilt Chamberlain: 2x NBA Champion, 1x NBA Finals MVP, 4x NBA MVP, 13x NBA All-Star, 1x NBA All-Star Game MVP.

Jordan also played a major role in opening up the world market to basketball. Not to mention the success of his shoe and apparel brands turning Nike into a commercial powerhouse.

Sportsman/sportingly, the above is the definition to me.
And in that department, Ali failed at times. Especially prior the Manila Frazier fight.

Dereck Chisora (in the ring prelude vs Vitali Klitschko) spitting water to the face of Wlad, and Wlad keeping calm – that’s admirable!

          - -U soft lads love him, we get it.

U cite team stats, not individual. How many Celts better than him?

U just aother marketing sucker, one born every minute.

Babe changed baseball and Wilt changed basketball not to mention emasculating Ali in front of Cosell and millions of ABC viewers back in the day.

U no know what grade U in yet?

It's definitely not Ali. He's not even the biggest in Boxing history.

But I dunno how you determine the greatest sportsman.

            Maybe Dempsey?
            Maybe Ruth?
            Maybe Messi?
            Maybe Phelps?
            Maybe Brady?
            Maybe Nicklaus?
            Maybe Karelian?

How are MVP awards and All-Star appearances team stats?

U always talk out of your butt?

                  Irrelevant.

We were comparing Jordan and Wilt. You said certain accomplishments were "team stats" but you were obviously wrong.

Just admit it and stop embarassing and soiling yourself.

                    - -Only ever played team sports...big Duh for U.

Wilt played on inferior teams compared to the Celts. He was bigger than basketball like Babe was to baseball and both changed the game tremendously.

Wilt didn't even like basketball except when he played for the Globetrotters where he got to play Guard!!! He'd rather have been an Olympic high jumper, 400 meter sprinter, and or Decathlete.

Hence his emasculation of Ali. Jordan could never stray beyond minor league baseball.

Let's be clear here, U e******dity in no way reflects the wonder of the Ali career who hands down with assists from Foreman, King, and Mugabe brought boxing to the mouth of the Congo and to the mountains of the moon, u know, where his people lived on the dark side!

                    Only in boxing folks!
