Seriously, I would love to see the argument for ANY 90's fighter to beat him.

In the other thread we have people arguing that Bowe - who needed undersized out-matched opponents to look good, and who blocked punches with his face - wouldbeat Wilder. People are saying that with confidence!

Really, there are few fighters I'd pick to beat Bowe. And outside of Fury and Vitali, it's more of a coin-toss than an outright favorite.

Definitely in the 90's there was no one ready to deal with Wilder's widow-makers.

Hell, Lenny the Bytch was considered as fearsome puncher!

Admittedly Bowes prime was very short.. He was basically shot after the trilogy with Holyfield of which on paper says he got the better of it.. Just saying you gotta be pretty damn good to beat a younger Evander.. Wilder is just not technically as sound as most 90’s heavies.. Fact.. That doesn’t mean I’m knocking him.. The era was freaking strong to say the least

Yeah, he is great. But lesser punchers than Wilder troubled him.

And while many fighters have been more technically sound and complete Boxers, we see how much power compensates.

Dempsey said to be champion you have to be able to throw a big punch and have the chin to take a big punch. Wilder fits that bill better than any 90's Heavyweight.

Deontay Wilder is the most limited WBC champion in all weight division, that I have ever seen 'Wilder has plenty of courage/gameness but from a technical perspective his skills are embarrassing'.

I would give around 10 + heavyweights from the 90's a chance of beating him.

Wilder's offense and power is also highly overrated 'Joshua probably hits just as hard' 2 years ago, nobody was describing Wilder as one of the biggest punchers in heavyweight history.

And you could say the same about every heavyweight post Tunney. But that doesn't mean Tunney would beat them.

The 90's Heavyweights weren't mistaken for Juan Manuel Marquez. And rhe decade is littered with big punchers rising to the top at the expense of more technically sound and complete Boxers.
