Prob lives on his own island he bought when Brando died.
Tubbs has admitted in past about his drug use(*******). Good point about Carl. He was so dumb even King never bothered to try and set him up to run his empire. Instead as he slowed down with age he lost what was at one time the biggest promotion in buis.

      - -When I said prob clean I allowed for exposure , but not the dereliction of a Page/Dokes situation.

Alcohol/Tobacco are proven addictive, but only for those with the genetic addictive trait.

And they're legal, so the hypocrisy of western nations role in creating these vast criminal networks will be their legacy even more so than that of the poor, addled, drug addict.

Good. You know that Webb was the real deal as he paid for it with his life--was suicided. Show twice in the head. Only in the USA would that be allowed to stand as a suicide.

Not a champion, but I think Gerry Cooney said recently that he was given coke for the first time the night he beat Norton & it started him down a bad path.

In the eighties, when I really followed current boxing, I felt like a few guys who looked like future all-time-greats, but then who lost that extra-special something very quickly, had succumbed to coke. Donald Curry, Aaron Pryor, Pinklon Thomas, and Hector Camacho come to mind.

Henry Armstrong when he went abroad to fight Ernie Roderick in Merry Old England ,was told to leave his coke in the US, he will not fight using ******* in this match. As he was accustom to in New York.

Just stating the obvious for yer elucidation.

Re the 30's fighters and *******...coke was huge in the 20's and 30's in the US and Australia. Wouldn't be surprised in known pro's played around with it (especially given the general knowledge of its dangers would have not be known then).

You young 'un's remember the Blues Brothers film? Remember the old black guy who sang the introductory song with the scat singing before the two Blues Brothers came out to perform. That was Cab Calloway singing 'Minnie the Moocher which came out int he 20's or early 30's...the lyrics in that sing speak of ******* use....

Anyway, my addition to the list - Mando Ramos - heavy user of heroin and ******* while competing on the LA circuit...and winning. Got a great article on him / his drug use in one of the BI mag's circa '92. Incredible, wasted talent.

                    That's pretty interesting.

It was always used as a stimulant, if not a party drug. It DEFINITELY would help a fighter, like Armstrong, pull out big wins.

The stuffis rocket fuel, if used correctly.

                      - -1st Mex title aspirant didn't exactly set Mexico on fire in the beginning.

Fat Andy oodles of natural physical attributes and a solid boxer in his style chosen got derided by drunken Brits with the full blunt force of their genetic ******ity and used it the overcome all the odds and suits lined up against him.

Gonna be two A+ talents and fighter establishing the pinnicle of their generation.

Only fly in the ointment will be the officiating which seldom matches the acumen of the top fighters.
