Hearns wasn't chinny, per se. But his chin wasn't what it needed to be against great finishers. Ray was as strong a finisher as we've ever seen.

Ray stops him again w/in 15.
I was at that second fight Leonard was down twice I believe and nobody around me thought that fight was a draw.I will rewatch it but I thought Hearns won that fight.

Leonard acknowledged the draw was a gift Hearns was the better man tonight. To many people rewriting history on this site why didn’t Leonard give him a rematch at 147 or 154 he made him wait over8 years .The boxing fans wanted a rematch Hearns always called him out about it but nobody seems to remember that.

The first fight was an action packed fan friendly fight that Leonard was down on the score cards by 2-3-4 points needing a knockout to win.He was down twice in the second fight and got a gift draw. You make it sound like it was two one sided fights that Leonard dominated.

Hearns has heart but not enough heart and will-power to beat Leonard. Leonard was just a class above him.

I haven't watched the fight in a long time but Leonard beat the snot out of Hearns on atleast two seperate occasions in the rematch, it was so bad that the ref nearly stopped it while Thomas was taking a beating on his feet. But they happened at end of those rounds so Hearns was saved. In any event, those were more significant moments than the knockdowns Leonard suffered. I scored those rounds I mentioned 10-8 for Leonard.

Not enough heart but enough heart to survive one of the best finishers in second round. The majority of people in the boxing industry and press scored it for Hearns and the most important person of all SRL stated look it up Hearns was the better man tonight the draw was a gift.

Yup. You've clearly never seenthat rematch.

Leonard slipped. Hearns had one KD. Even then, he was never as close to finishing Ray as Ray was to finishing him. Ray left that ring with his faculties intact. Hearns probably didn't even know his own name. Watch the fight. It was competitive, but there's no doubt that Ray was the better man.

Call it karma, but only having 12 rounds hurt Ray here. If it were a 15 round fight, we wouldn't even be having this discussion. Hearns would've never heard the final bell.

Finally some common sense. I mean are people even rewatching this fight or sticking to hearsay? Leonard beat the absolute piss out of Hearns in that fight for several moments, infinitately more sifnificant than those flash knockdowns. And that was a very past prime Leonard after many layoffs and rehab programs from his substance abuse addictions.

Again, Leonard was always a class above Hearns and would always beat him.

You and bone mans arguments are with Leonard go back and check lvrj from the day I was at the second fight right or wrong thought Hearns won as well as most boxing people who scored the fight at the time.I believe Leonard only got one 10-8 round .No need to reply your argument is with SRL don’t rewrite history study it.Everything else is my opinion vs yours much like Fury /Wilder.Just look up SRL quotes I especially like the one where he stated Tommy surprised me I didn’t think he had that much left in him.Which is why we waited over eight years for a rematch.Again my opinion only I thought Hearns one I didn’t have replay to watch as I watched it live.Dont rewrite history study it.The fighter himself said he lost.

You should stop telling me to study when you can barely put together a coherent english sentence, buddy.

It seems like your entire argument is based on Leonard's comments about the fight, which btw you have yet to post a source and specific quotes so that should be your next task here.

In any event that is not how I score fights, I don't base it on the words of the fighters because 1-They don't score the fights, they're actually fighting and sometimes they might feel like they lost because of feelings of a disappointing performance, when in reality they won more rounds and won that fight. And 2-They might be saying things to pay respect or have other agenda's.

So go ahead and post those quotes and while you're at it, re-watch Leonard beat the everloving piss out of Hearns at several moments in the fight and then come back here with a straight face and tell me the flash knockdowns were more significant than the moments where old, broken down Leonard nearly TKO's Hearns before the bells saved him.
