I read in Bert Sugars book 'The 100 greatest fighters ever' that Sonny Listons fists were bigger than Carnera's and Willard's.Holy ****!I knew he had huge hands,but damn!Combine that with his unnatural reach,and this man was a machine.Anyways,im sure a lot of you already knew this.Just thought I would throw it out there.

Liston's fists were measured at 15 inches. That measurement is across the knuckles and palm (held in place by the fingers making the fist. It is said an ordinary man's fist is about 7-8 inches which I think is a bit low.

Ali, Holmes, Norton and Frazier have had their fists were measured anywhere between 12 1/2 to 13 1/2 inches.

Joe Louis, Jack Dempsey and Marciano were among three of the hardest punchers who also happened to have three of the smallest fists (along with Braddock and Tunney they are the only champions under 12 inches).

Marciano was just small all around compared to other champions. Height, reach, fist, neck, chest, biceps, thighs etc....while Marciano's 32 inch waist ( the first place most men store fat) is the same as much bigger guys like Mike Weaver, Pinklon Thomas, and Evander Holyfield to name just a few.

Marciano was clearly a cruiserweight by today's standards.
