  • Roy vs Field

--- After Roy whooped John Ruiz off his WBA belt, Roy was the hottest thing going in boxing.

He had a signed contract in his drawer to fight new WBO champ Corie Sanders, was ****ering with Lennox Lewis for a $100 million purse, and offered Field a below market value purse he turned down to be knocked out by James Toney who Roy had previously shutout and clowned.

Roy vs Field in that timeframe, who you got?

Well Holyfield would’ve been a way safer fight than the late Corrie Sanders. I saw Sanders down at Bally’s Atlantic City and he did a real nice job against Rahman for about 4 rounds than totally ran out of gas, yet he had hit Hasim with some Hard punches that would’ve pummeled Roy. I also saw Corrie up in Connecticut vs Bobby Czyz and he overwhelmed Bobby with power and just crowed him and got him on the ropes and bullied him. I believe Roy knew to stay away from that power and quite frankly real good hand speed from a southpaw. At that point Roy might’ve beaten Evander at that moment. The HGH going into Roy might’ve been better than Evanders at that time , Lol

Holyfield vs. Roy was actually in talks, but Evander walked away because he said Roy was treating him like a b-side talent
