    Tyson's best round.

What do you think is the best round Tyson ever fought?

    Here is my top3

    - first round against Pinklon Thomas (still cannot believe Thomas did not go down from those punches)
    - second round against Trevor Berbick
    - first round against Alex Stewart

First round against Johnson by far. He did not get hit once, he ducked every punch and brutally punished him.

First round against Reggie Gross. Same thing here, Gross opened up and was the first guy to attack Tyson and he threw everything he got, figuring this was his only shot. Tyson ducked nearly everyting brilliantly, except for an uppercut. Then he finished him like a true champ.

    First round against Savarse.

    Theres more.

Since everyone has listed what I was going to say. Here's a shock

          8th round against.....Buster Douglas.

We all know Tyson can smash people. But does he have heart? Yes. Buster came out throwing punchs left nad right. It looked like Tyson was losing the fight. Then at the end of the round BOOM! A classic Tyson uppercut. Dougals was down longer than 10 seconds........

Tyson displayed better feats of heart against other fighters than Douglas. He simply showed us here that he had a puncher's chance against any fighter if he looked for an opening as opposed to throwing senseless power shots all night. Even if Douglas was down for more than 10, it wasn't by the referee's count, which is what Douglas was going by (and it was clear that he was aware of his surroundings).

Was it his 5th round against Ferguson where he broke his nose? That was a pretty good one. Jesse was using a jab, trying to set up the right hand, and clinching Tyson whenever he got in close. This is the time when most people would assume Mike gets frustrated and loads up power shots. Instead he kept plugging the body, setting up combinations, and eventually cornering him.

I think Tyson's best round, however, was probably round 3 of his second fight with Holyfield, before the bite took place. Round 1 was pretty even, with round 2 clearly going Holyfield's way. Just when it looked as though it was going to be a repeat of their first fight, Tyson pulled his stuff together in the 3rd round, and attacked the body. This opened up Holyfield straight up the middle, which was bread-and-butter for clearing a path for a few uppercuts later in the fight. Tyson even staggered Holyfield in this round before biting (for whatever reason) and giving the fight away. Even so, we saw a glimpse of heart and strategy.

It is because he failed to utilize this more often that he never reached his full potential. Again, his best rounds are simply pieces of a great, if incomplete fighter.

Round 8 vs Lewis was Tyson's best round imo.
