--- Corbett vs Fitz was a real life enactment of the rivalry of the best selling book of the day, Ben Hur.

It was not only the first blockbuster fresh out of the gate, but international when copies of the film where distributed internationally for huge acclaim.

The first full film attempt was 1896 Langtry, Texas of Fitz vs Maher heavyweight title fight.

That fight was fought in misting twilight and a one minute KO, the footage seemlingly never developed or otherwise lost. It's in my book.

Enoch Rector moved upstream to Juarez to film bull fights, but as far as I know that film was never released and otherwise lost. There is a 1896 bullfight short, but not sure who shot it since so many hands were in this new technology.
