Holmes always lived in the shadow of Ali, and his memory was swept away by the legacy of Tyson. Naturally, fans are sympathetic to his being sandwiched between two legends, and some even resent that such a skilled big man has been overshadowed by two fighters who were famous as much for their personality as what they did in the ring.

That's why many over compensate for Holmes. I do believe he needs to esteemed as a great fighter, regardless of his ability to secure commensurate popularity. But too many people go too far, by trying to call him one of the absolute best ever. There have been too many fighters since his reign who've bumped him from the top 5.

          hahahahaha! No.

Even if you scored it for Witherspoon, that performance was Holmes' best following Cooney.
