All time great Lists MUST factor in Fame/World Recognition

Boxing Has always been about entertainment and drawing power.

Inside the Sport, Henry Armstrong was a fantastic, but never Captured the Worlds imagination on the level of Tyson in the 1980s, Dempsey in the 1920s or even John L Sullivan in the 1800s.

A truly GREAT fighter should be able to do both. Accomplished inside the ring and a superstar outside of it.
    (Robinson, Ali, Floyd, Joe Louis)

That makes zero sense. Granted more drawing power & being more entertaining will get you more attention which often does get you more consideration on these wacky sci-fi ATG P4P lists where most guys talking about who's the number 6 guy of all time has seen like 2 of his fights.

But regardless its like saying the best movie shouldn't be the best movie it should be the best 500M+ at the boxoffice movie. Which makes no damn sense either. If you just wanna say who's the best most popular fighter fair enough, but thats different from being the best fighter.

Henry Armstrong cannot be compared to someone like Tyson when it comes to name recognition and fame. In Henry's time there was zero chance that a black fighter would be marketed to anyone but the black community.

It's why Ali is often so head and shoulders above everyone else...but fame should not be the be all and end all of making such lists.

Robinson does not have the global recognition of a Tyson or louis but would you rank him lower? I certainly wouldn't.

That's why I have to laugh when people say Ward is a bigger deal than the Big Drama Show himself.

The guy your using as an example, Henry Armstrong IS a ATG. Not only is he a ATG but he is on the shortlist of candidates for the best fighter ever.
