People mainly often criticize the opposition of modern fighters because they are fighting for $10,000,000, instead of $10. For that kind of conch, they feel the boxers should up their competition levels a bit more consistently. Hey! What do they think they are on, a barnstorming tour?

A good writer can do wonderous things with words. They can make a man a myth, make him a legend who outlives his own body. There has to be a seed of truth for the myth to sprout, however. Battling Budd said that Greb was the greatest he ever faced, and he faced a list with many known names. Writers have gone wild with the Greb myth. But for a reason. You look at what was said about Greb by meaningful people, those with boxing acumen who saw him fight. The anecdotes are pretty consistent.
im not saying that era was devoid of talented boxers. just that there were too many hobos pretending to be boxers. a fight every other week ?!?!?!? cmon.

guys who command top dollar are usually quality guys/champs. $10 guys are, well.......hobos ? if a person has too many hobos in their resume, i cant see myself giving him props.

you didnt tell me your thoughts on wlad taking on a 6-14 type guy. would you gloss it over and call it a stay busy fight ? people are skewering may for taking on an mma guy. if you look at many ''greats'' for the way back era, youd find a ton of ''debuts'' with no complaints.

if a fight fan hates it when our modern guys do it, why do the stribbling ear guys get a pass ?!?!?! same shlt, different date.

again, guys who wrote up those guys didnt have much to compare them with. let me ask you YOUR thoughts on the QUALITY of those resumes.....the numbers are impressive but whats behind them ?
