In the 70's and 80's i can recall great talents from the Soviet Union, but back then, USA had a great team in the amateurs as well as Cuba, so they probably would had medium success, considering that they would have been the first wave of soviets in the pro ranks, something like the team freedom of Cuba in the 90's, with the likes of Hurtado and Casamayor winning some belts, but underachieving or disappointing.
