H2H It's up for debate but greatness definitely has to go with Fitzsimmons. His record is top15 ATG worthy.

What about your thoughts on Buchanan compared to Froch and Eubank? Buchanan was a ligit beautiful boxer in his prime, hard as nails as well. The fat yanks loved him. That win over Laguna has to go down as a top 3 great British win. The pastey scott didn't just have to dethrone a great champion, he also had to cope with the high altitude and extreme heat of an outdoor fight in Puerto Rico. He also looked fantastic at times against Duran in between getting the **** beat out of him.

I heard the weathers usually **** in the Dam. It's a place I would love to go to though. We're you in about the weed and hookers during your adventures? lol

    • Ken is definitely one of our great fighters being unified at Lightweight plus his scalp over Laguna is one for the history books.
The step up with Duran didn't go to plan and you can compare that with Frochs failure vs Ward in Atlantic city. A victory for either man would have probably put either man near the very top of any respectable p4p ranking at the time. I'm not saying Ward is no Duran but h2h I'd have Froch over Ken most definitely.

I floated around a couple of coffee shops and immersed myself in the sights like any tourist including red light but I didn't pay for any prossies.

I was a fan of Froch but im not seeing him beating Ken h2h. Ken had the stylistic advantages due to being a brilliant elusive mover with a great jab and counter punching ability. He had fast hands and was as tough as they come on top of that. I think Ken takes a UD.

I love these highlight clips of the master.

Highlights of the Duran fight showed how tough and spirited he was. People only remember the punch in the balls and forget how great a fight it was.

I watched Laguna vs Ken a few years ago. I'm definitely going to watch the Duran fight tonight. I can't fathom how the oldies fought 15 rounds and the new generation seem to gas out.
Froch vs Ken is definitely debatable. Froch was the definition of an unorthodox fighter, Ken was definitely the better "textbook" fighter. It's not unimaginable to think Froch walks through Ken though, especially in the later rounds if you take into account Ken has been stopped before.

What's your take on Chris Eubanks standing in British history and his career?. Objectively if you can, I know he's a bit of a plonker to some people out of the ring.

Buchanan wrecks froch p4p IMO. Way too much skill and he is tough enough to hang with Froch in that department aswell.

Yeah, It is strange. Even before the era of 15 rounds guys like Joe Gans and Battling Nelson went to war for 40+ rounds.

Well Ken was only ever stopped by Duran by an absolutely brutal illegal blow. I mean Duran went on to put middleweights on their arse and Ken was able to soak up tremendous punishment from an angry Duran. I don't think Froch has that speed or intensity to be able to Walk through Ken. Ken had an immensely tough chin and body so he isnt getting stopped, he had great stamina so he isn't tiring or gassing, he had a warriors heart so he isn't getting out fought. The fact Ken was also a brilliant boxer-mover gives him a huge advantage over the slower stiffer Froch. It's got UD for Ken written all over it imo.
I agree Froch is definitely unorthodox and awkward to fight against. Ken was definitely a textbook technician but athletically he had some unorthodox movements. The way he moved at the hips to avoid punches was certainly unorthodox. The guy was pure class.

Well obviously we both have different ranking criteria. I just can't put Chris in my top 10 due to the old timers having fantastic resumes. I wouldn't have any problem placing him in a top 5 post war ranking. At his best he's a tough fight for most of the great middleweight in history imo. Hard as nails, skilled, strong, powerfull, awkward, etc. He ticked a lot of boxes did Chris.

                  • Lennox Lewis, closely followed by Carl Froch. AJ could topple them all. Big shout out for the Raggamuffin man, Kirkland Laing and Herol Graham.
