Anyone watched this guys fights ?
Got any views on his achievements or failings.
Any updates on how he is today ?

Perhaps his greatest accomplishment was against Jeff Sims. Biggs suffered a broken collar bone early in the fight and was forced to fight the whole fight with only the left hand.
I felt he was not ready for Tyson at 15-0. but it probably would not have made a difference if he had waited until he had more professional experience.

He was a pretty good amateur beating Damiani and Lennox Lewis in the Olympics. Both opponents later beat him as professionals.
(As did Tyson, who lost to him in the amateurs)

Always thought Biggs could've done with a little bit more strength work.Say ten pounds of muscle. He had pretty good mobility.Gave Rid**** Bowe a pretty good fight.

The added muscle may have only hindered him with his style which relied purely on speed of foot and hand.

Perhaps. He couldn't stop stronger men walk through him.Lewis basically mauled him.The same with Gary Mason.Maybe more strength without more bodyweight. He always looked to me like they could've made more of him.A bit like Tony Tucker.

He was a very good amateur, like many 80's fighters, wanted to be like Ali, so he moved a lot and had a nice jab and good speed.
Won the olympic gold in superheavyweight, the first fighter to win the gold in that division, beat Lennox Lewis in the way.
Turned pro but he was too lazy and wasn't powerful enough for his weight, like you read above, he won a fight against Jeff Sims with a broken collar bone, he won based on movement and jab.
Was rushed in his pro career, faced Tyson, Lewis, Bowe, his amateur rival Damiani, also was in drugs as a pro, could have done something more, but who knows how much.

I think the Duva camp tried to turn him into a fighter rather than stay as a slick boxer.
He had neither the power for one nor the stamina for the other.
He really believed he would beat Tyson.
Heard he was back home living with his elderley Dad in the same house he grew up in , Spruce st, West Philly...
He lived in Newport Beach Cal at one point.
Watched his fight v Mike Hunter for the North America title, he got thumped, he fell along way quickly.
Fought Tyson Damiani Mason Bowe Lewis..all unbeaten and at their peak.
              Badly managed, cashed in ?
              Cut problems didnt help.

If Lewis would have been more aggressive in the 1984 games he might have won but ty's experience won him the fight.
