I'd say Lennox's overall list is better, but if we go off the top of each list I'd favor Ali.
Ali or Lewis: better resume of power punchers?

I would have to pick the inimitable Muhammad Ali, the greatest heavyweight that ever lived and the greatest chin our sport has eve experienced. Foreman, Frazier and Liston were proven at the world level and a fighter like Shavers once turned Holmes inside out.
Other than Tyson, Lewis didn't face any world proven punchers, or anyone who consistently did the job.Last edited by Fury4daWIN; 09-04-2016, 06:32 AM.Comment

That's more or less what I've been saying from the start. If you take every opponent both men ever faced and measure their best punch, the sum total would be significantly in Lennox's favour. Even take their ten best punchers and the outcome is probably the same. You have to get down to the top three or four before things start evening out, and with fighters like Tua and Morrison given free rein on the pads I'm not sure I'd want to pick a winner.Comment

Don't forget that Lamon Brewster said that the hardest puncher he ever met was Lionel Butler. Chalk another one up for Lennox.Comment

I'll replace Chuvalo with Quarry but Cooper and his left hook are solidified in boxing history. lol @ questioning Floyd Patterson being on the list. Golota was not a puncher and although the other two were hitters, Lewis was their only top opponent while they just stayed feasting on cans in Europe and GB.
Make the post in general and see where you get.Comment

The thread's been dying down but you're still bumping it from time to time refusing to acknowledge defeat. No need to be butthurt because most people disagree with you. Try to live with it.Comment

I'm going on PURE power, I think Lewis wins this pretty obviously. If we're talking skilled opposition with technique behind it then Ali wins. So Lewis on that alone.Comment

And Tua was a world proven power puncher similar to Frazier, Foreman and Liston?Comment
