Marciano might be a harder target than people think, for Louis to hit. I can't recall Louis fighting anyone who fought out of a low crouch/bob and weave like Marciano did.

Two fine slabs of meat. Marciano dances circles around Joe, peppering him with long jabs all night for what should have been a smooth decision win. Rocky too slick for the plodding Bomber. You would have thought it was Tunney in there, moving in and out like a threshing machine.

More than Rocky's power, it his footwork and defensive savvy that disorients Joe and has him turning to the ref for assistance throughout the fight.

With Joe's face a bloody mess from Marciano's constant jabbing, the referee mysteriously stops the fight and awards it to Louis, as he disqualifies the Rock for lack of action after a third warning to pick up the pace.

rocky was fortunate where he didnt have to fight any dangerous prime guys. very rarely was he in any real danger.
