this is butterfly1964 and welcome to the Arcadia Pavilion in Oakland, CA for fight #5 between Max Baer and Jack Dempsey. Dempsey is a 16 to 1 favorite. can dempsey win the series in five fights? well, dempsey weighed 190, and baer was 210. the crowd is showing it's full support for baer. one of our reporters interiewed dempsey.

reporter: "well jack, is this the day you are gonna eliminate baer?"

dempsey: "i sure hope so. he's strong, but i think i'm able to handle him tonight."

reporter: "well then, what about the next round?"

dempsey: "I've been thinking about that alot. i'm pretty sure that i'll have to fight jack johnson, and i'll be looking forward to it as well."

      reporter: "any last words?"

dempsey: "just ready to get this over with and move on, that's all."

well there you have it, folks. dempsey is ready, that's for sure. here's the tale of the tape.

      Max Baer

      age: 25
      height: 6'-2 1/2"
      weight: 210
      reach: 80"
      record: 40-7-0 (30ko)

      Jack Dempsey

      age: 28
      height: 6'-1"
      weight: 190
      reach: 77"
      record: 61-4-9 (49ko)

now dempsey is in the ring wearing a black robe. he has a serious look on his face. he is warming up in the ring right now. the crowd cheers as baer is in the ring. baer also looks determined.

buffer: "Lllllllllllets get ready to rumbllllllllllleeee!! fighting in the blue corner, from Manassah, CO, he wears solid black trunks, he stands 6'1, he weighs one ninety, the manassah mauler, Jaack Dempseeey! and in the red corner, from Livermore, CA, wearing white trunks, he stands 6'2 and one-half inch, weighing twoooo teeeeen, the Livermore Larupper, Maaaaaaaaaax Baaaaaaaeeeeeeeeeeeerr!! (loud cheers)

conn: "you know the rules of the California State athletic boxing commision. protect yourself at all times. shake hands, and good luck to both of you."

60,000 people jam-packed in the Arcadia Pavilion hoping for baer to stay alive in the series. it's win or go home for max baer.

Round 1: Dempsey comes in, and he fights from a croutch. an almost panther-like croutch! baer stands up straight and is flatfooted. dempsey is on his toes bobbing and weaving. moving in and out when he needs to. baer taggs dempsey with a left, but jack takes it well. dempsey lunges in with some blistering combinations, and they both get in a clinch. dempsey outmuscles him and does some work tot he body. dempsey keeps thjis up and lands some left hooks. baer keeps it close by landing some hard shots as the round ends: dempsey is calm and confident. baer is being tended to by his trainer Mike Cantwell, while Teddy Hayes gives Dempsey instructions.

Round 2: Dempsey keeps moving in, while baer attempts to keep him away. baer stunns dempsey a little, and the crowd cheers, but dempsey quickly recovers and continue his assault. dempsey low blows baer a couple of times, and conn warns dempsey. baer is now doing what ever he can to win. he is now throwing illegal backhands and dempsey complains. conn now warns baer as the round ends: both men need a little rest.

Round 3: this round appears to be a page right out of the pep-saddler rivalry, because they both are fighting dirty. dempsey with his low blowing, and baer with his back hand shots. the referee constantly warns both fighters, with neither fight gaining an edge in the fight: both hayes and cantwell, are giving their fighters a real talking to, telling them to fight clean.

Round 4: Dempsey is now looking better with solid head shots during clinches and great body shots. dempsey looks greatnow as he lands his left hook more and more. dempsey really wants to win this match to move on to the second round. he now is throwing some fast combos that worry max. dempsey keeps on him like white on rice until the bell rings: dempsey is a little tired, but max is pretty well spent.

Round 5: Jack moves in to carry the attack. baer fights back, but dempsey is a force to be reckoned with and baer has no answer. baer is gettin weaker and weaker with every body shot jack dempsey lands. dempsey keeps this up the whole round and finally a hard, fast two-punch combination, (a left hook and a right cross)sends baer to the canvas, and that is where he'll stay for at least the next ten seconds. the fight is over. Jack Dempsey defeats Max Baer in five games!

buffer: "The winner by a fifth round knockout at 2:16, Jaaack Deempseey!!"(very few cheers could be heard. the crowd is pretty much silent as they quickly begin to file out of the stadium)

so now jack dempsey will go home to manassah colorado and rest up. he will need the rest. in the second round, he will have to fight either jack johnson or max schmeling.

well, that selttles it. and now, lets send our cameras to Atlanta, GA!

and marciano is now coming into the ring and mixed cheers and boos could be heard. and holyfield is in the ring and a loud roar of applause is heard! both men looked hungry and determined. here's the tale of the tape.

        Evander Holyfield

        age: 28
        height: 6'-2"
        weight: 207
        reach: 77"
        record: 25-0-0 (21ko)

        Rocky Marciano

        age: 30
        height: 5'-11"
        weight: 185
        reach: 67"
        record: 45-0-0 (40ko)

let's listen to ring announcer michael buffer.

buffer: "welcome to the geooorgia dooome, for this eastern matchup. Lllllllllets get ready to ruumbllllllleee! in the blue corner, from Brockton, Massachusetts, wearing white trunks with black trim, he stands 5'-11", he weighs one eighty-five, the Brockton Blockbuster, Roockyy Marciaanoooo! (a few boos could be heard) and in the red corner, from Atlanta, GA, he's wearing black trunks with white trim, he stands 6'-2, he weighs two oooh seven, The Real Deal, Evaaaaaaandeeeeeeeer Hooooolyfiiiieeeeeeld! 15 rounds!"

Round 1: Both fighters come out and marciano dipps down low in his famous croutch. evander is missing his face cause marciano's head is too low. marciano throws a few wild punches, but holyfield dances away from him. holyfield is using the ring well, countering and making rocky miss: both men are fresh and ready for action.

Round 2: Both men come out trading, and evander is getting the best of it. rocky pounds the body during clinches and goes for the arms and neck as well. holyfield trys to stay out of a clinch, cause he knows rocky will go for anything. marciano is pressing the fight and is cutting off the ring pretty well, but holyfield is landing his jab and one-two's with pin-point accuracy: holyfield listens to sheilds with great attention, and goldman is giving a few pointers to rocky.

Round 3: holyfield is boxing well, landing his jab and making rocky miss. rocky looks sloppy and wild now. holyfield is sticking to his game plan and staying away. marciano is still pressing, but holyfield is a tad-bit faster. holyfield get consideration from the judges on this one: Sheilds is telling holy to keep doing what he's doing, and goldman is telling rocky to pick his shots carefully.

Round 4: holyfield is still circling and trying to keep away from rocky, but marciano is closing the gap and landing his right hand more. holyfield still is hitting marciano's face often, but marciano now is beginning to take over. he corners holyfield and wales away. holyfield takes them and is fighting back, and now they are trading punches, and holyfield catches rocky with an overhand right and drops rocky! the crowd is on their feet. but rocky is up in two seconds, and the fight goes on. rocky is swinging back, but that knockdown payed great dividends for the scoring. holyfield still wins: both men needs some rest, especially holyfield.

Round 5: Marciano is landing his right hand well this time, and holy is starting to tire. however, marciano is still strong as a bull and he begins to land blistering haymakers, half-way though the round, holyfield is land some hard punches that puffs up marciano's eyes. marciano does enough to win this round: both men's faces are puffed up, and goldman and sheilds are tending to them. marciano is still strong, but holy is tired.

Round 6: marciano is throwing big punches and ducks under holy's punches. he is landing effectively on his tired opponent. It's all marciano as he pounds the body with lefts and rights: holy's eye is puffed up some more, and marciano's eye is cut, but goldman keeps it under control.

Round 7: marciano continues to land, and holyfield hits marcano a few times to make a good fight of it, but holy looks pretty well spent, but marciano is still fresh: holy needs all 60 sec. to refresh himself, but marciano is up at the warning bell.

Round 8: Holyfield is now fighting back in the clinches and is landing some punches. marciano's face is cut again, and holy fight back more. marciano and holy are both throwing punches. holy throws body punches to wear marciano down, and marciano hits the face, body and arms. the round is even: both men needs some rest and some ice on their eyes.

Round 9: Holy comes out, tired but willing. marciano is strong in the clenches, and holy is taking some shots. marciano is crouching low to get in a good uppercut that staggers holyfield. holy shakes it off and keeps putting punches together. The round is even: Both men are tired, but marciano looks pretty good still. marciano eye has blood coming out of it, so goldman takes care of that situation.

Round 10: Holy is now looking better landing jabs and straight rights and dancing away from marciano's punches. marciano tries, but holyfield is too fast for rocky. it's all hoilyfield: marciano's eye becomes a problem, but goldman has it under control. holyfield's eye is swollen, and he is almost blind in one eye, but he still presses on.

Round 11: Marciano comes back strong, and land some punches, that worries evander. holyfield spends most of his time against the ropes while rocky hits what ever is infront of him. holy tries to box him, but he is tired and marciano continues to close the gap. rocky has evander hurt and he is going for the ko, but evander lasts the round: marciano recieves instructions, and so does evander and the warning bell sounds.

Round 12: marciano is still pressing forward landing some big shots. evander is tired and he has no answer to marciano's onslaught. marciano pounds the body to weaken him. holyfield has took a beatin to his hands and can barely hold them up. marciano pounds holyfield more to the face. holy is staggered and he looks out on his feet. marciano looks to finish, and the referee conn steps in and saves evander.

michael buffer: "The winner, at 2:03 of the twelfth round, by a tecknical knockout, roockyy maaarciaaanooo!!(the crowd is not pleased as marciano put holyfield on the brink of elimination)

marciano: "i hope i could win the next fight and move on to the secong round."

well there you have it, folks. marciano will try to close out the series at home. well, that'll do it for today, once again the final scores are, Part1-dempsey ko5, and Part2-marciano tko12. tune in for more playoff boxing right here on NBA Playoffs + Boxing =

And, welcome to the Volkstaad Poststadion in Berlin, Germany for fight #5 between schmeling and johnson. johnson has the series lead and the opportinity to advance. johnson tipped the scales at 208, and schmeling was 192. schmeling's spirits seems to be low. he needs an answer to johnson speed and craftiness. well, here's the tale of the tape.

            Max Schmeling

            age: 26
            height: 6'-1"
            weight: 192
            reach: 76"
            record: 44-4-3 (32ko)

            Jack Johnson

            age: 32
            height: 6'-1"
            weight: 208
            reach: 74"
            record: 67-6-10 (49ko)

jack johnson now is in sight, walking casually down the aisle. he is now in the ring moving around and practicing on his footwork. a few boos could be heard. and now max schmeling is in the ring and 70,000 fans go wild! both men seem well prepared, especially johnson.

michael buffer: "ladies and gentleman, lllllets get ready to rumbllllllee! in the blue corner, from Galveston TX, wearing gray trunks, standing 6'-1", weighing 208, the Galveston Giaaant, Jaaack Johnsooon!! and in the red corner, from Brandenburg, Germany, wearing white trunks with black trim, standing also 6'-1" weighing 192, The Black Uhlan of the Rhiiiine, Maaaaaax Schmeeeeeeliiiiiing!!!(loud cheers)"

Round 1: Both men circle each other. johnson lunges in with a flurry, but schmeling side steps it and counters with a right cross and then a left hook. johnson uses his strength in the clinches like last time. schmeling counters well and wins over the judges: Blanken tells johnson how to deal with max's countering, and machon encourages schmeling to keep sharp and let johnson make the fight.

Round 2: schmeling continues to counter. johnson is a bit faster, but shmeling is crafty. schmeling is giving a good account of himself as he lands some right hands. johnson doesn't know what to make of the situation. he does a little in-fighting, but schmeling looks pretty good in that department as well. schmeling gains confidence as he starts to make the fight and throw some combos that hurt johnson, he follows up with some fast punches as the round ends: blanken says to keep his hands up and react to the counter right hand. schmeling is poised and ready.

Round 3: schmeling goes into his awkward stance and waits for johnson to carry the attack. johnson jabs infrequently, and schmeling counters with blistering right hands. johnson decided to fake a jab, to make max react with a right hand counter. when this happens, johnson drops max with a right hand! the crowd roars! schmeling is up at the count of 4, and johnson continues his attack. but schmeling lasts the round: schmeling's eye's are puffed, and so are johnson's. schmeling is slow at getting up off hos stool. johnson looks fine other that that eye.

Round 4: Johnson continues to carry the attack, and max attempts to counter, but at this point johnson is too fast for schmeling. schmeling is pretty tired from all that clinching johnson did. schmeling however sucks it up and lands a one-two-three combo that makes johnson cautious for the rest of the round: schmeling eyes are swollen and needs some serious attention. johnson is fresh and doesn't even bother to sit on his stool.

Round 5: Johnson moves in and lands some blisterin combos and max is caught off guard. it's all johnson as he pounds the body, ties schmeling up and blocks any counttering punches. a fast hard left staggers max and a right sends him down. he is up at four, and johnson quickly moves in with some stellar blows to the body and head and schmeling is down again! schemiling is up but is still wobbly. mark conn steps in and stots the fight. it's over! johnson advances to the second round to fight jack dempsey!

buffer: "The winner by a tko at 1:56 of the fifth round, jaaack joohnsoooon!"

johnson: "I'm glad i won, and now i'm gonna beat up dempsey next!"

that a bold statement from johnson. will he make it come true in the second round? we'll see. and now we are going over to New London Arena.

butterfly1964 here at New London Arena, Millwall, London, for fight #5 between lennox lewis and george foreman. foreman has a 3-1 lead in the series. can lewis hold on? foreman is a 16-1 favorite. foreman was interviewed earlier today.

reporter: "Well big george, are you gonna finish him off tonight?"

foreman: "I should be able to. he won't be that hard to beat tonight. i''m in pretty good shape."

rep: "How much do you look forward to fighting ali?"

foreman: "A lot. i think i have the right style to beat him and if i could beat him, then i know i will win the tournament!"

              rep: "Thank you, george."

              foreman: "Don't mention it."

well, foreman was very confident coming into this fight. here's the tale of the tape.

              Lennox Lewis

              age: 28
              height: 6'-5"
              weight: 246

              reach: 81"
              record: 38-0-0 (35ko)

it looks like foreman is in great shape for the fight. and now foreman's in the ring and some boos could be heard. foreman is wearing a red robe. lewis comes out and 50,000 fans go wild! lewis is wearing a white-hooded robe.

michael buffer: "Ladies and gentleman, llllllllets get ready to rummbllllllleee! in the blue corner, from Houston, TX, he's wearing red trunks with the blue trim, he stands six-foot four, weighing two twenty-three, "Biiig" Geooorge Fooremaaan!(loud boos from the stadium) and in the red corner, from London, England, he's wearing white trunks with black trim, he stands six foot five, he weighs two-hundred forty-six pounds, the Lioooooooon, Lennoooooooooox Leeeeeeewiiiiiiiiiiiis!(huge applause)"

foreman once again puts the stare on lewis as the instructions are given. can lewis survive this fight and try to come back or will foreman move on to fight muhammad ali? we are ready for round one!

Round 1: both men come out. both use their jabs, especially lewis. lewis gets a good right hand, but foreman walks through it. both men start trading punches. lewis then stuns foreman with his big right hand and tries to follow up but foreman catches lewis with a vicious left hook that staggers lewis! the crowd is on their feet. they keep trading blows until the bell rings.: both men need some shaking up in order to revive themselves.

Round 2: foreman is patient and lewis uses his jab and lewis is backed into a corner and foreman wales away. lewis now gets away and id is trying to avoid foreman. foreman is chasing down and lewis moves in to throw a right hand, but before he could throw it, foreman catches him with a huge right uppercut and lewis is sprawled on the canvas! lewis is motionless and appears to look even dead as conn counts to ten! the fight is over. foreman wins in 5 games and will fight ali in a houston, texas "crosstown series".

buffer: "The winner at 2:01 of the second round by a knockout, geooorge fooreemaaan!" (the crowd boos incessantly)

well, that was fun, seeing another foreman blowout, lol! now lets go over to Convention Hall!

              • vs.

Welcome to Convention Hall in Philadelphia, PA for fight #5 between liston and holmes. holmes is on the brink of elimination as the series is in lsiton's favor at 3-1. Liston came in at 215, and holmes weighed 210. here's the tale of the tape.

                Sonny Liston

                age: 28
                height: 6'-1"
                weight: 215
                reach: 84"
                record: 28-1-0 (18ko)

                Larry Holmes

                age: 30
                height: 6'-3"
                weight: 210
                reach: 80"
                record: 36-0-0 (27ko)

now larry holmes is in the ring and a few cheers could be heard. and now charles sonny liston is in the ring and the crowd erupts with applause! they both are poised and ready. here is michael buffer.

Michael Buffer: "Ladies and gentlemen, llllllets get ready to ruumblllllllllee! in the blue corner from easton, PA, wearing blue trunks with white trim, he stands six-three, weighing two hundred teeen pounds, The easton assassin, Laaaryyyy Hooolmesss!! Hooolmmess!! and in the red corner, from Philadelphia, PA, wearing black trunks with white trim, he stands six-foot-one, weighing two-fifteeen, The Big Bear, Chaaaaaarles Sooooonnyyyyyy Liiiiiistoooonn! Liiiistoooooon!!(loud applause)

                they are both ready.

Round 1: Holmes circles liston and pops his famous left jab. liston is not bothered, but jabs as well, and it suddenly becomes a jabbing battle. holmes is cornered once, and liston pounds his body. during infrequent clinches, liston is able to outmuscle larry somewhat: both men are up very quickly and ready for action.

Round 2: Holmes is now using his jab effectively and countering well to boot. liston is throwing his jab and throwing bombs, but holmes blocks most of them. this is holmes' round: liston is listening to Reddish intently and holmes is off his stool quickly and up on his toes.

Round 3: Holmes is continuing to fight off the backfoot, and liston is cutting the ring off occasionally. holmes is doing everything right and keeping liston away: liston and holmes are still fresh, and ready for action.

Round 4: holmes is continuing to outbox and outclass holmes, but liston is patient. liston manages to land some jabs and hooks, but holmes still does enough to win over the judges: Liston needs some rest from all the chasing and holmes is still fresh. Giachetti can be seen giving holmes instructions.

Round 5: Holmes is still circling and outboxing sonny, but charles closes the gap a little and manages to pound the body and land the left jab. liston is doing much better in cuttin off the ring and jabbing at holmes. the round is about even: liston noddes his head when reddish says something to him , and holmes is up off his stool early.

Round 6: Liston continues to cut off the ring and lands some punches that shakes holmes a little, but holmes is doing pretty good as well, holmes gains a little confidence and putts some good punches together, that worries sonny. sony eyes are swollen from holmes jab, but holmes' condition is not much better. some infighting is done, with liston dominated that phase of the fight, holmes still keeps away most of the time: liston is getting help with that eye. holmes looks ok.

Round 7: Holmes is now flatfooted. liston is cutting off the ring better and landing a host of jabs. holmes looks sloppy as he thinks he has it in the bag. liston still is landing saome body shots and is lading huge right hand to the face. holmes chin takes them, though. liston is wearing down holmes with more body shots as the round ends: liston is cofident, while holmes needs some rest.

Round 8: Liston is now throwing his "big" bombs, but holmes stays away from them. holmes uses his jab to keep liston away, but liston slowly closes the gap and corners them. it seems that sonny's top-notch conditioning is paying off, and he is fast in cutting off the ring on the elusive holmes. liston dominated this round as his body shots wear down holmes.

Round 9: Liston smells blood, he throws a 5-punch combo that staggeres holmes, but holmes shows he could take a good punch. holmes fights back, but slugging it out with liston smells disaster! liston drops holmes with a huge right hand. holmes is up at the count of 4. liston continues his attack. liston looks great as he pummeles holmes, but holmes holds on: giachetti is using smelling salts on liston to revive him. liston in confident.

Round 10: holmes is on his toes, trying to keep away. liston pounds the body and works the head. holmes jabs continuously and lands some combos. holms punches sharply and liston is stunned a bit, but recovers. holmes boxes well, and liston is missing some shots as holmes appears to be fully recovered from the last round. holmes is looking better, landing his jab constantly and the occasional straight right. the round ends: liston needs a little rest. so does holmes, but not as much as liston.

Round 14: holmes is a little flatfooted and is landing some combos that shake sonny. sonny is pressing, but at this point, holmes is just too fast for liston. liston tries to corner holmes, but holmes avoids the ropes. holmes boxes sharply. liston gets a few good shots in, but this is clearly holmes' round: reddish is yelling at liston to be patient. holmes looks confident as the bell for the 15th and final round rings.

Round 15: liston is now closing the gap and is trying to end the fight. holmes moves well, and stays off the ropes. he knows that if he goes against the ropes, it is over! holmes feels he needs to survive this round and he will survive elimination from the playoffs. liston hurts holmes and goes for the finish as the closing seconds of the round tick down, holmes almost goes down, but he survives as the round ends!

There were no knockdowns. liston's eye was cut, and homes was puffed up. here is michael buffer!

buffer: "Judge Artie Aidala scores it 9-5-1 for holmes!(boos) Judge Tony Castellano scores it 8-3-4 for holmes! (loud boos and jeers). referee mark conn scores it 7-5-3 for holmes, the winner by unanimous decision larry holmes!!"

holmes: "I knew if I had the right game plan, I could win. And now i'll go back home in front of my fans and beat him again!"

The crowd shows it's disgust at the decision as holmes is not elin=minated and will live to fight another day. liston now has a 3-2 lead in the series. can holmes turn it around and win the series? find out next time! now lets go over to madison Square garden for another must-win-game!

holyfield is making his way through the ring. he is wearing a bright green robe. he bounces into the ring and then shadow boxes. rocky now comes and the place erupts with applause. rocky smiles at his fans with a white, hooded terricloth robe. he climbs into the ring and rotates his arms to warm-up. well, here is michael buffer.

buffer:"welcome to boooston gardeeeenn, for the eastern matchup. as conn gives the instructions, both marciano and holyfield have a focused look on their face. Charlie Goldman is marciano's trainer, and Ronnie Shields is evander's trainer.

Round 1: marciano goes right after holy landing crisp shots, and holytries to stay away. marciano hits to the body and head when he can, and to the arms, elbows and neck when he can't! holy jabs and lands some combos. this is a feeling out process, but evender looks a bit better: sheilds rubs down holy, while goldman is giving rocky a few pointers.

Round 2: holyfield is still circling and trying to keep away from rocky, but marciano is closing the gap and landing his right hand more. holyfield still is hitting marciano's face often, but marciano now is beginning to take over. he corners holyfield and wales away. holyfield takes them and is fighting back, and now they are trading punches, and holyfield catches rocky with an overhand right and drops rocky! the crowd is on their feet. but rocky is up in two seconds, and the fight goes on. rocky is swinging back, but that knockdown payed great dividends for the scoring.

Round 4: holyfield and rocky get into frequent clinches, and holyfield now uses his new found strength to pound rocky's body, outmuscle marciano, and to hurt his with some head combos. rocky tries to make a fight of it, but can't. holy is doing everything right. this is a great round for evander: goldman is telling marciano to concentrate on the body and to croutch lower to make evander miss. sheilds says to keep applying the pressure on the inside and tie marciano up when he can.

Round 5: marciano croutches lower, which gives holyfield problems in landing his jab cleanly. holy applies presure on the inside and gets marciano on the ropes and pounds him. marciano fights back, but holy uses his strength to tie him up. marciano throws his suzie q a few times, but misses by a mile. evander is now up on his toes and is landing his jab about half the time, puffing up marciano's face. marciano is pressuring holy, but holy boxes sharply: holyfield looks pretty good in terms of stamina, and marciano looks as fresh as ever.

Round 6: Marciano is still pressing the fight, this time landing some right hands to the jaw and hurting holyfield. holy shakes them off and continues to move. holy gets a bit tired now of running and marciano begins to close the gap. holy is cornered and uses his strength to push him off, but marciano is relentless in attacking. holyfield plays keep away, and the round is about even: marciano still looks good, except for that eye, and holy is tired. it seems that the added weight took a tool on his stamina.

Round 7: holyfiled is now in a bind with marciano pressuring him to the ropes. marciano lands his suzie q with effectiveness now as holyfield's stamina makes him a bit slower. marciano is strong in the clinches as holyfield no longer is able to outmuscle marciano. marciano can find evander easily now as the round ends: marciano's eye is swollen, and evander';s eye is a little puffed up as well.

Round 8: marciano goes low and unleashes an uppercut that worries evander. holy pounds the body, but at each exchange marciano gets the better of the two. marciano is presuring and presuring. holy is trying to fight back, but to no avail. holy contunues to fight off the back foot, stopping occasionally to throw some hard combination to try to keep his opponent a bit off-balance, but marciano is stronger in the fight now and alot more confident. this is definetely marciano's round: goldman tells marciano to keep applying the pressure and to use the jab. sheilds is telling evander to try and counter marciano's shots and to tie him up whenever he could.

Round 9: This fight is fought mainly in the clinches. marciano and holyfield are both throwing blistering shots that stun each other. holyfield seems to be bouncing back. holy lands some shots that keeps marciano away, but in fighting is the name of this round and holyfield is dominant in that phase: holy is looking better and marciano's eye is now cut.

Round 10: marciano goes into his croutch, and holy tries to land his jab on the bobbing and weaving target, but with little success. holy is cornered and marciano carries the attack. marciano is looking much better than in the last round landing hard rights to the jaw and chest. holyfield is a little arm weary and marciano knows it. he pounds the real deal's body with some hard lefts and rights. holyfield fights back, but this is rocky's round for sure: marciano looks pretty good still, while holyfield is fatigued.

Round 11: Marciano comes out with a vengeance, and the crowd is behind him. holyfield fights back, but he is really tired and marciano takes advantage. marciano pounds his body, and holy is staggering, marciano follows up and finally holyfield goes down for the first time in this tournament! holy is up at 8 and marciano moves in to finish with two hard lefts and his suzie q, and holy goes down and stays down. the fight is over! Rocky Marciano defeats holyfield in 6 fights and moves on to the second round!

buffer: "The winner by a knockout, at 2:43 of the eleventh round, rockky maaarciaaaaaaanoooooooooo!"(the crowd goes wild as marciano closes out the series on his home floor)

marciano: "I'll be looking forward to fighting liston or holmes. i'm sure either one of them will give me a great fight."

well, there you have it folks, once again, the final score is marciano ko11!
