Not much has been said on the exact history of the different size boxing gloves and or oz. they used...Conflicting articles and stories..I know Johnson started with the 5 oz gloves,i heard Louis on vid using the 5 oz then I read he used up to 8 oz,but Ali used 6 oz in 1967 in some fights ...Marciano wore 8 oz in title fights by 1952 but then his early fights the gloves are much smaller...Is there any data with accurate info on this? I assumed modern 8 oz gloves weren't introduced until the 70's.
