why mohamaad ali considered as the best ?

  • #2
because he did a lot outside of the ring because of the draft dodge amongst other stuff. He also fought everyone around his time, biased judges/bad decisions/loses whatever he still fought everyone.
Truthfully it is mainly casual fans who have the idea that Ali is the best. People who know about boxing who look past what he did outside of the ring usually don't have him at number one.

Beat Foreman Frazier Norton Liston Patterson etc. Foreman would come back decades later as an old fat man and still win the championship!!!!!!!

There was an old timer who worked for boxrec that posted here years ago, not sure if he still does or not. But he was probably the most knowledgable poster on the site that I knew of.

But as he explained it, and he had all kinds of stats and info to back it up, basically no one else has ever fought the level of competition Ali did on such a consistent basis.

I believe Frazier contributed to the much hype, without those Frazier fights being competitive I don't believe he would have been remoty built up as much as Ali was.Ity seems when a more dominant champion doesn't struggle they get less credit, simply baffling. How good was Ali?He dominated an extremlyWeak 60's era and his greatest win was Foreman not Frazier who was past his best by the rematches. It soley depends how hard you think foreman was to defeat?I simply don't think he does well again most of the tall boxers,J.young proved this easily. Most of the post 70's top guys would out box Foreman, in any year or age he was.

That given ali has his place but to be the considered the best ever is simply not true,he had holes in his game, foreman was just not the fighter twho had the skill sets to exploit them. You cant away some of his attributes in h2h matches ,but guys like Norton and Frazier even Cooper have showed he was not unbeatable and personally%

Definite top 3 best evers. Probably the greatest ever though in terms of everything he did in and out of the ring. HIs win over Frazier WAS significant because this was style nightmare for ali and just so happened that this guy also had 1 of the best heart in the sport. His record is legit and fought all the top guys when they were in there absolute prime and in full confidence. He also gave blueprints and inspiration to other fighters. That's also why his win over foreman was also extremely significant. Fighters were not the same after he fought them............he also never injected anything to be the best.....

                Yep that's the name.

The way he broke down the reasons why Ali was the best, there was nothing else to be argued after that.

I wish I had a clue how to find that post where he explained why Ali was the best ever, it was one of the better reads I've ever had here. You know its good when you remember someones bscene post years later.

Anyone can knit pick those statistics ,he never weighs in relevancy of Alis opposition at the time of the fight either.Statistics of winning percentages dont tell what his top opposition of age or year ,one cannot claim better resume without that those factors otherwise its just a numbers game over relevancy and its flawed.
