  • Abstinence

With abstinence being a regular practice among fighters, some going without *** for months. How did fighters like Ray Robinson, Henry Armstrong, fighters who were fighting twice a month for years do it? Or did they not? I think a lot of fighters back then looked at fighting how it should be, a livlihood. They were constantly in the gym, and ready to fight whenever, wherever. (Another major attribute fighters back in the day had over fighters today is the mental toughness and attitude).

They were most likely a lot less ***ually active than the average person because they still had kids during their careers. I don't think they went months with out ***. Just like a week or two before the fight. If at all.

Abstinence brings no benefits to an athlete and few boxers would have actually went through with it if they were fighting one or twice a month.

Abstinence raises your T-Level. It makes you more aggressive, faster, and stronger. That's why most of the top fighters are *******.

It increases your testosterone levels, makes you ***ually frustrated and super aggressive so you want to rip the other guys head off and as Tony Thompson said post fight "I'm gonna break my wife's hip, I haven't had *** in a while".

The complete opposite is true. Abstinence will cause your testosterone levels to drop and having *** will raise them. These boxing trainers have had it the wrong way round for decades.

I think you are mis- reading what I am saying. I know the benefits of going without ***, and I know the science video on youtube featuring chris byrd that proved the theory wrong;. I was just saying a lot of people said "the old timers" regularly used abstinence in their training but I am asking how could they when they fought so frequently and/or took fights on short notice. Unless like previously mentioned they were ******* lol which is untrue. I think like previously mentioned they went a week or two without it, not months like some have claimed

The answer is that they didn't unless their trainers had them under lock and key or slept in the same bed at them as D'Amato was supposed to have done during camp with Floyd Patterson.

They let their vital juices build up. Near the end of training camp, it was too dangerous to count imaginary sheep jumping over a fence. These guys had to count logs rolling down a mountainside. One wet dream could demolish months of training. After something like that you either climb in the ring and take the beating your errant ejaculation ensures, or you postpone the fight. Coming in with your vital juices depleted can cause serious injury. Robby entered the ring draint like a fat hen for Turpin in London, his vital fluids on emergency generator. The downfall of Tyson was related to the wholesale spreading of his vital juices far and wide.

You want to come in like Barrera, so horny he tried to hump the prince.

                    For whatever it's worth:

There is a trend among today's youth to abstain from ************, ****, and even *** for a certain period of time. They call it the "No Fap" movement.

A lot of the participants report increased energy and that their body responds better to workouts while they are abstaining. It's anecdotal evidence but it does coincide a little with what the old time trainers were talking about.
