At ring center getting referee Zak Clayton's instructions in their epic fight. "The Rumble in the Jungle" it is clear that Muhammad Ali is over an inch or more taller than Foreman..

The Website Boxrec is the biggest culprit for false information!

Louis, easily 6'2" stood next to him.
Tyson 5'9" during J.O boxing (10 to 16 yrs) last time I saw him at 20 years old he looked to be 5'10" in boxing boots.
    (Atlantic City pro show)

Ali was 6'3" he always wore Everlast flat leather bottom boots. No build up on the bottoms at all. Other boots elevated others height as much as 3/4 of an inch.

i remember seeing a pic here in one of these threads that showed 50 year old joe louis standing next to young ali, and louis looked huge, way bigger than ali and they were the same height. louis' bones and his neck and shoulders were enormous compared to ali, he looked to be about the size of foreman. i don't know what kind of shoes joe was wearing in the pic, but he was at least 6'2", he wouldn't have been wearing vin diesel's moon boots that add 3 inches of height.

roy jones height is generally listed at 5'11" but max kellerman said on tv before the calzaghe fight that that is a generous estimate, so i'd guess he's really an inch shorter

Michael Dokes was often listed as 6'3", but was probably more like 6'2", or 6'1 1/2".

Not sure why this comes to mind, that Andre the Giant was always billed as like 7'5 and 7'7 when he was actually closer to 7'0

Tommy Morrison was probably 6' -6'.5" NOT 6'2"
          Tyson wasn't 6', 5'9"-5'10" tops
          Tua wasn't 5'10" probably closer to 5'8"-5'9"
Michael Moorer was no way in hell 6'2", 6' tops https://i.ytimg.com/vi/nu3oJ9VZg8g/maxresdefault.jpg
          Same with Holyfield ^
Shannon Briggs isn't 6'4", more like 6'2" tops. Probably 6'1"
          Frazier wasn't 6', barely sc****d 5'10".
          Anthony Joshua isn't 6'5, Probably 6'3" or 6'4"

You can pretty much take every fighter today and scale their height down an inch or two because they're all exaggerated just like every other sport. You see it all the time at the high school and college level for football and basketball. I'm sure if I looked at other sports I'd find the same thing.

I remember an old tale of the tape when Moorer was a light heavyweight, he was listed at 6'1''
            Same for Shannon Briggs: 6'3''
Holyfield as a cruiser was listed at 6'1 1/2''
            B-Hop 6'0'' instead of 6'1''
            Joshua is probably 6'5 1/2''

              Roy Jones: 5'10''

Tale of the tapes haven't been that reliable for decades. Especially when they became self reported. If you look at Holyfield's you'll notice that his tale of the tape measurements stayed the same from when he weighed 208 all the way up to in the 220s.

Good point. Now that's keeping track of them!

The Truth In Measurement movement has not taken holt yet. But who would have thought that right now philanderers and lecherous executives across the globe would be would be shaking in their boots, wondering if they are next on whom the ax will fall.

The Truth In Measurement movement is sure to come, as fans finally gain a sense of their power. Fans want to know with confidence the heights of their sports idols. They can demand the truth. They can demand official measuring parties which include representatives of nobodies everywhere.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/194865840934 Joe Louis was not taller than Ali.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQSb2pFDkTk&t=1s Michael Moorer was listed at 6'2 when he was a light heavyweight. Ali himself claimed to be 6'2 1/2 not 6'3. Mr MojoRison stated Anthony Joshua is 6'3 and Shannon Brigg was 6'1 in his prime? Yeah you can't take anything this guy types as being serious.

                      - - Paul Williams and Arreola fought out of the same stable and often on the same cards had plenty of public shots together. Chris was listed at 6-4 by boxrec then, and Paul 6-1, but in every group gathering Paul was 2-3 inches over Chris.

Extrapolating, I'd say Chris was 6-1 and Paul 6-4.

Funny story- Bro 6-2 a half foot taller than me had fallen in with the block shoe fad with 4-6" raising America. He was really lording it over me how much taller he was. So we're at his place watching a football game, and he goes to spring a leak. He'd kicked off his shoes that I slipped on, so when he returned, I jumped up to look menacingly into his eyes as he visibly shrank back in fear. Laughing, I sat down kicking off the things as he realized he'd been had.

That was the last time he wore those ****** shoes...
