I think Marquez is the fairer comparison: unlike Finito, he actually fought fighters with a pulse, and came back from adversity.
Johnson still gets my vote:
1) He started much later start, in a comparatively "primitive" era. Like my dad, he came up from the South to Philly due to the Navy. My dad thought Boxing was crude, and became a Cop. Johnson, like MArciano, started Boxign at an advanced age. He was as perfect was Marciano was "wrong".
2) his level of competition was better, schedule more hectic, and the bigger guys pack a bigger punch.
Maybe that's not exactly the answer you are looking for, but for those reasons, I consider his text-book application of The Rules of Queensbury, more impressive.
