Sugar Ray Robinson couldn't fight so often against current fighters

Starting the first fight with the punching bag jake lamotta he fought 46-26 izzy, 30-19 vic, 49-27 izzy again for a pointless the rematch, 49-11 and then got whooped against punching bag the lamotta hahahaha

These dudes are absolute gatekeepers and would probably be on the jesus soto karras level, a decent fighter but everyone puts the ray robinson as the greatest for fighting average fighters.

Imagine the ray robinson fighting tough guns like the porter, maidana, thurman etc every 2 weeks, NO CHANCE he would get killed by these guys who are actually top fighters. (IF he fought them as often as he fought those journeymen)

Someone please tell me what the big deal with the punching bag jake lamotta, he is just a black and white version of the arturo gatti lol he is nothing great at all, people love to overrate these guys because they fought overrated robinson.

I give him credit for his wins over zvic and agnott but after a while it's just the same pointless rematch against the two i mentioned and punching bag lamotta etc. people complain about the puckiao marquez fighting too much but robinson did the same thing you dummies, its not like he and black and white arturo gatti where 2-2-1 going into the 6th fight, everyone knew robinson was better than this punching bag.

The henry armstrong was a great fighter but anyone with sense knows he was shot when he fought the ray robinson

Overall the ray robinson is a great fighter but not the undisputed greatest like people make out, any other great at welterweight could fight those absolute high level journeyman every few weeks and win.

Ridiculous punching bags he fought with ridiculous records besides shot armstrong, he wanted no part of the charley burley and instead took pointless rematches against guys he already beaten hahahaha

Someone defend this punching bag slayer please?

Didn't think I would live long enough to ever see Jake LaMotta being compared to Jesus Soto Karass. Idiot.

Another nostalgic leach arrives and begins with **** slurping fighters of the past but doesn't mind the current generation of fighters copping stick whilst doing all of that this person makes a fool of him/her self.

Go away you little whatever right now we are filled to capacity with narrow minded bitter old farts who think just because something happened in the past that it automatically makes it better than the present.
These old farts are seriously having a late life crisis they spew, piss and moan all the damn time and it stinks worse than the retirement home.

              Ray.
Then I guess you wouldn't approve of my article Ray...

"Robinson vs Mayweather: Modern vs Old part 2"

              LOL

Obviuosly the OP is almost entirely correct, whoever he is.

No modern boxer could ever fight that much today. And if Robinson fought today he'd get his ass BUSTED!

But don't takle my word for it. Take Holyfields! And Tyson's!! And any current boxer's who aren't paying homage!!

              Just my 2c.

Yet you never seen his apparently BEST fights by your own admission..

So you support a boxer of which you really know not that much about and follow him blindly. Enough said of your opinion.

I see the mongoose has already chomped the geriatric viper. Good win LOL he had a lot of experience haha

OP is just another smart guy who loves boxing, 2 apparent un-mergable qualiteies until now

It's obvious to anybody reasonable that Robinson would not be a serious competitior today but hard to swallow for the OTNB or as some affectionately call them.. "nostalgists".

Anyway as a tribute to Robinson, which nodoby would have issue denying I'd doubnt.. Sugar Rayh Robinson DOES have the best record of any boxer of all time.

The "greatest" going purely by numbers.

Also noteworthy is that he beat more decent opponents during his lengthy career (by the THEN standards) than any other boxer.

So by a historical stand point it stands well that Ray is the TBE.

By a modern view point in terms of actual performance though, it stands ludicrous!
