Saw an interview with him, around the time if his comeback under goosen circa jirov, Holyfield fights where he rips steward, and says it was bill miller who really showed the kronk fighters how to box and molded them and then when they started competing in the major amateur tournaments, steward would take over and steal the credit for molding the young fighters.. I can't find that interview, but if you YouTube "James toney bashes Emmanuel steward" it's a sechbach interview with toney and he says it again. This video was around 06-07.

Just wondering if there was any truth to what he was saying.

I forget the name of the trainer, but toney spoke very highly of him and basically ripped Emmanuel for taking credit for the guys that this trainer had already taught..
Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
Yeah, it's Bill Miller. He's the old guy in the bottom corner next to Ncita. Great trainer.

Edit: ahhh, you already found out.

As I'm sure everyone here knows, Miller was Toneys trainer all the way up to Jones, when things started going bad for him. He was an impressive trainer steeped in knowledge of old school fighters. Particularly Ezzard Charles. I wouldn't be surprised if Miller did a lot of the day to day training of most fighters there that a Steward got credit for.

Miller was a student of Eddie Futch and actually taught Stwrard everything, so it would go without saying I guess. Whether it was the way Tpney said it though? Dunno. But Miller and Steward were close and Steward had massive respect for him.
