No. Charles, Langford, Armstrong, Greb and Robinson are greater to any educated historian.

Lol... You got me there.. Honestly I only have sugar and Ali in my name because it sounds cool. Ali isn't even one of my top 50 favorite fighters..

And the guys you mentioned are all fine candidates.. I favor Ali for the obvious career achievements, but the one critical factor in Ali's ranking is that he fought in what was considered the deepest most talented heavyweight era, and one of the best divisions regardless of weight in history, and he was #1 guy while being past prime.. No other fighter can say they dominated a division's best era while being past prime.. I don't think there is a single guy to ever do that but Ali, and maybe Srr at 160..

robinson i wouldn't say that robinson was dominant at 160. he did have great wins, though. tons of them.

he lost quite a bit, and would win the title back.

I agree with Holywarrior on this one. In my opinion, those fighters he mentions are locked for the Top 5.

I’m not big on putting heavyweights in the Top 10 to be honest. The lack of talent compared to the other “classic” divisions is the main reason, in addition to them being lesser skilled than their smaller-sized counterparts in general. It isn’t madness to have Ali outside the Top 10. He can certainly be inside it, but he isn’t a surefire lock for a Top 5 position or something like that.

I simply don’t see how he can be above a colossus like Ezzard Charles for example, whose resume is nothing else than monstrous.

stop talking ... all great fighters of course. But no reason why all of them should definitely be rated above ali ... especially Langford.

wins over the likes of ...

                  Patterson,
                  Liston,
                  Foreman,
                  Frazier

                  confirm his as ATG

I never said he wasn't an ATG, he is just lower than those guys, who are basically the holy grail of ATGs

                      Charles' resume is absolutely insane.
