There is no best style, but if one made a list of all the ATGs in history, I would say that most of them would be classified as boxer/punchers.

Hard to pick a best style, as the best style for a fighter will always be what suits his natural attributes best. Having said that, the styles that I enjoy watching most are those boxers with quick movement, sharp reflexes and great combinations, so the Leonards, the Alis, the Pacquiaos, the Roy Jones of our sport.

Someone with good fundamentals, like Hopkins, Toney, Floyd, Ward

Dont get me wrong, Jones is amazing but the things he does most people cant, I wouldnt say his still is most effective overall for everybody. It was effective for him because he was so gifted. Look at someone like hopkins who is pretty well rounded but not way above average in any one athletic attribute.

Hes adjusted over the years to make up for physically declining. Now days he can still compete at the top level but only with a ton of fouling.

In his younger days he was not a spoiler and had a lot higher output.
