    Who was this fighter?

Sorry this is going to be quite vague, but hopefully someone can help me out.

I remember reading a thread about this fighter way back, and then I subsequently looked up some of his fights, but I can't even remotely remember who it was.

He was a white boxer from the US South with (I believe) an aggressive style, fighting maybe in the early-to-mid 1990s.

He won some big fights, and I think was essentially on the verge of a title shot, when he was found dead. I think it was something like his body was discovered at a creek near his home.

Like I said, it's been a long time since I originally ran across this guy, and that's about as much as I can remember, vague as it is. Does anyone know who I may be thinking of?

Nah, the guy I'm thinking of was a lower weight fighter. Perhaps lightweight or welterweight range, if I'm not completely mistaken.

That is him. Previous to being killed had a a good win streak going. I was a fan and recorded a bunch of his fights. It you ever get a chance check out his fight with Anthony Stephens. It was a classic!

                  It certainly was!

I'm from Denmark, but in October 1994 I was vacationing in Scottsdale, Arizona... and was lucky enough to catch this fight live on TV. I recall being blown away by the incredible toe-to-toe action, and thought it was one of the most amazing fights, I had ever seen!
