Btw, in Nantucket late Sept at the in laws place, before they arrived I scouted around for wood to smoke fresh fish for when they arrived. Only choices were firewood, one called piss oak for its fragrance, and sugar maple, my choice obvious, but...

I had to use lighter fluid after manfully splitting tough maple with a dull Boy Scout hand ax and then scrounge a makeshift grill, yet somehow I limped in with the piece de resistance, smoked Halibut that the ol' guy raved over.

Sheer blood, sweat, and tears coming together with luck for a perfect moment I couldn't replicate again.

We average 10 feet of snowfall during the winter. When I was young winter was fun. Now, not so much..
