But more seriously, I'd expect a five year younger Leonard to have beaten Norris, or a five year younger Ali to have beaten Berbick or a five year younger Dempsey to have beaten Tunney.

Even five years beforehand, I'm not sure that I'd favour Jeffries over Johnson. I suppose Marvin Hart did sc**** a controversial decision win over Johnson in 1905, but I wouldn't be confident of Jeffries beating an 'in shape' Johnson back then.
