Peter, Sanders, Arreola, Gomez, Adamek & Solis were the only ones ranked in the top 10 by ring magazine.

So he has 6 top 10 wins. Actually it's more likely 5 as Solis wasn't in the top 10, but he might have been promoted because he got a fight with Vitali but dropped out again as soon as he lost.

    Is that great?

saying that "vitali is an ATG" makes you feel good. when it's established that he doesn't fit the criteria of an ATG, you use your own. when he loses a fight via stoppage (byrd, lewis,) you make up your own rules.

bro, i get it. believe me. do your thing.
And what is the criteria for ATG exactly?

ATGness is, in my book, a mix of dominance in your division, taking on all comers - and coming out on top, excitement, being amongst the best ever in your division etc and across all divisions.

Vitali doesn't really tick any of these boxes particularly and if he was awarded with that tag then it loses its meaning.

        • His achievements are great, but his h2h against other greats would not be too good in my honest opinion.

These things fit Vitali quite well. He was very dominant, he never avoided anybody; 'exciting' is a matter of taste, but Vitali was never a 'boring' fighter I think many would agree. A KO rate of nearly 90 percent supports this. And how exactly do you describe who's the 'best ever'? Again, subjectivity comes into play.

And how about the alphabet orgs? Surely more of his opponents would have been ranked top 10 (I did not do the research, but one would assume so).

i consider the 100 most accomplished and able boxers the "ATG."

essentially, we're measuring who you beat and when.

You don't consider Vitali among the 100 most accomplished and able heavyweights?

Actually he did avoid (ducked) the Byrd rematch, Byrd tried to get Vitali in the ring again for years.(and I dont believe I am posting in this monstrosity of a thread again)

So all of the names you called Lennox for supposedly ducking the rematch can apply to your man Vitali also.
