  • Foreman 1973 vs Tyson 1988

When Tyson destroyed Spinks,it has been said he would have beat
anyone in history that night...The night Foreman destroyed Frazier the
same was also said..if they both clashed what would have happened?
For those quick to say Tyson, remember that Foreman was so
powerful he hit Frazier and lifted him up into the air..pummeling him not
once but twice..in two fights....for those quick to say Foreman, remember
Tyson would hit 230lb men and they would fly half-way across the ring.
Both had natural strength and power meaning both were probably
capable of benching 500lbs naturally, unlike manufactured strength that
is built up over time like an Evander Holyfield, for example.
Also,at that time, both were on a mission to destroy whatever
was in front of them and be the greatest ever...they were both
    very hungry.
In my opinion,I think Foreman would have eventually knocked out Tyson.
The reason why is because Foreman was an Olympic Gold Medalist and that
means a fighter is good before they get good!..in fact it took another Gold
    medalist to finally beat Foreman.

i actually would favor mike,, he had great headmovement and footwork and i think he would be able to land on foreman and drop him ala ron lyles, but also be able to finish the job,,

tyson in his prime was a wrecking machine

i would favor foreman 90s to beat a prime tyson, as he was much more calm and collected and would be able to mentally withstand tyson for a few rounds and then land the big shot to ko tyson

Certain styles beat certain styles.. Even George of the early 90's, gives any version of Tyson problems.

Wasn’t it Angelo Dundee who early on predicted, when Tyson was at his prime, that the day Tyson clashes with a guy that can use the move and hit effectively, he’ll be beaten. Not everyone was surprised in Tokyo ’90 (although Tyson had declined by then).
While the younger Foreman wasn’t that keen on protecting himself, I can see the elderly version of him being a bigger obstacle for Iron Mike. Ol’ George compensated his slowness by being a lot ring smarter.

What I’ve read, boxers who sparred them both, said Foreman’s punches hurt a lot more, while Tyson’s speed – they didn’t see the punches coming - made it rough.

What so ever, it is a fight boxing history will always mourn it never happened.

Foreman IMO would have stopped Tyson, Big Gorge had a knack for owning short pressure fighters.

EDIT: Foreman's weakness was against slick boxers, but if you came to **** you were in for a short night.

i have prime tyson winning most fantasy fights but Foreman is a bad match up for him. Indeed foreman is probably THE bad match up for him.

Mike would have a tuff time landing clean head shots on George. The angle of Mikes shots would crash off Georges shoulders or the side of his head if Mike could reach that high. George used his shoulders very well on defense and although he'd be open for a body attack that means Mike would also be in punching range!
                Tyson 5'9"
                Foreman 6'4"

If Mike went in the ring to box all night long he could beat George on hand & foot speed but I doubt he could show that discipline.
I never worked with George but did against him in a corner and what I sqaw up close told me his punches were different than everyone elses hahaha!!
I did work pads with Mike when he was a kid and he had terrific speed and great pop and was strong and pretty accurate too.

All that said when Mike comes to pressure George if he gets caught he'll get hurt, if not he'll have a shot at a distance win.
No one punches like Big George, no one! Ray

And you'd probably leave on a stretcher. No short-armed swarmer was ever going to beat Foreman.

Like everyone else is saying, its hard to envision someone coming forward into Foremans prime punching zone and ending the night in any way except on their back
