  • Orzubek Nazarov vs Paul Spadafora

This is a good matchup between guys who both where able to get multiple title defenses of a LW title but seemed to never get career defining fight, both lefties, I believe Nazarov's power would be the difference in a late stopage

Yeah Nazarov's power would probably be the difference. Spaddy might be able to outbox him but he has never really proven that he can do it against a top foe.

Always liked Nazarov and Yuri Arbachakov from that era.

i think spadafora could get beat by anyone decent,, he got dragged into a war with leo dorin FFS

I dont know too much about nazarov, but i do know spadafora, and he was a good fighter but i dont think he was all that great and could be beaten by any number of guys that were legit lightweight champs or contenders

Is'nt this the guy who was an average lightweight, struggled with Dorin, got a drug problem, then got ****** up for shooting his girlfriend, but once made a mug out of PBF in a sparring session.. Quite some time ago, 90's possibly..
        Recently re-emerged, covered in tats..
        Doubt he'd have beaten Nazarov

Yes thats him,, His claim to fame is getting the best of floyd in sparring years ago.. Paul was a solid fighter, made alot of defenses but he never was matched vs top level talent and it showed in the dorin fight. I dont know too much about nazarov as some of the other posters, but from what i know, he probably beats spadafora in a 60/40 type fight.

In 02-03 i always wanted to see spadafora vs casamoyer, JLC, johnston, lazcano, floyd, frietas, chico,, but for whatever reason he never landed a big meaningful fight except for the Dorin fight
