    Hearns knockouts

We all know how impressive his knockouts of Duran and Cuevas are but are there others that are noteworthy?

    there are plenty.

james shuler is the most brutal one he ever scored, knocked him out cold for about five minutes.

roldan and andries are nice, especially since they were on quite a big stage. the roldan one in particular as it was just a great fight with a vicious finish. geraldo is Another one, not the best looking KO but quite impresssive as geraldo had went the distance with hagler and Leonard and never been stopped.

but there are countless big KOs, especially when he was at welterweight. dude scored like 18 straight knockouts before he went the distance the first time. jim richards, Pablo baez, Bruce finch, Bruce curry, luis primera etc..

thats just off the top of my head, just look one youtube and you will find dozens of brain rattling, foot twitchin, mother crying knockouts from hearns

I have often wondered if Shuler's death was an accident, or if it was a deliberate act due to depression following the devastating loss.

            Nothing tops the duran ko.....

he put a living legend face down ass up in 2 rounds

unheard of at the time or even after to stop duran cold like that

The Cuevas KO was more impressive, as he was in his prime and on the top of his game, having destroyed previous opponents with his vaunted left hook. From a visual standpoint, it was even more spectacular with Pipino doing the 'rubbery leg tango' before going down. It was also more significant to Tommy, as it won him the title. Though a bigger name historically, Duran was way past his prime, though he went on to notch another impressive (Barkley) win/belt.

I tend to agree with this logic. Cuevas did not get a chance to even hit tommy. Roberto was dropped early but tried to make a fight out of it. Cuevas never regained his status while as stated Duran beat the man who humbled hearns. Hearns victory over cuevas made him look invincible as he had no losses at that time. Tommy's victory over Roberto was over a fighter still celibrating his close fight with hagler and set up his own match with Marvin.
