angie dundee seems to recall Doug Vaillant giving Roberto Duran a hard time in sparring in one of his books. Dougs carreer ended in 64 and robertos started in 67. Would Doug still have been active in the Gym?

Sure. Lots of retired fighters still make money giving active guys some rounds in the gym.
