and vonzell johnson, i dont know what kinda record he ended up with but after his fight with saad i thought he might b gettin a belt n of course if u seen that fight u know they stopped it early. then of course spinks rose to the top of that pile anyway having stopped both johnsons and just about everyone else on the list. who was the soviet bloc fighter who marvin johnson hammered to get one of his belts. i heard that soviet guy could fight too but never seen him fight.

All those guys could really fight. Good mentions. That was the golden era for lightheavies, at least in my lifetime.

It would have been special to see Roy Jone's Jr in against that type of competion.

Roy would've left with at least three losses.Great time for the Light Heavies, and the sad part of it is Spinks didn't fight as many as he could've because of his concern for Leon, and his knee injury.

Matthew Saad Muhammad was the most prolific lhvt for the times we're talking about.. The cusp of the 80's, saw his emergence in full flow and he was widely considered as 'the man to beat.' Qawi took it to Spinks after eventually becoming the first man to beat Saad convincingly..

This particular lhvt era can get a bit confusing, because most of the top tier, all decided on a different name (religion) at around the same time.
Saad Muhammad, Muhammad Qawi, and Mustafa Muhammad, all had western iden****** when they first appeared on the scene.

Should've said, 'The WBC Title' that Qawi won from Saad Muhammad, and later lost to Spinks, who'd beaten Marvin Johnson for the WBA title..
Spinks became undisputed champ when he beat Qawi..
