Monzon was shot in the leg in 1973 by his wife, not sure to what extent it hindered him though.
Gene Hairston was deaf, he was a fine middleweight contender until he had to retire at 23 from an eye injury. Fought Lamotta twice in 1952, getting a draw in first fight. I've seen the 2nd fight which LaMotta won, talented fighter. I think he might still be alive.
That's him! i could'nt remember how to spell his name earlier.
Remember watching Craig, and as his record indicates, he was very useful. But for some odd reason, nothing was ever made of it.. Few on here will ever have heard of him,but everyone in the world has seen Oscar Pistorius who at least had the luxury of competing on level terms. Bodzianowski should indeed be remembered..
I quite vividly recall his wba title challenge vs Robert Daniels who was'nt a great cw by any means, but i thought Bod was a tadge unlucky tbh. Daniels had a rough 12 rounds, and would've been flattened given the same incapacity.
That's him! I recorded a couple of his bouts and still have them. He must of had a strong will to comeback after that accident and fight with one leg.
I've already posted about Winstone, but this is hilarious!
Nice one Surge, lmfao
Yeah i noticed u had, was a good call and i couldn't think of anyone else off the top of my head!
Do u or does anybody else hold ANY hope for Paul Williams ever making a comeback? He still has no feeling in his legs but seemingly an immeasurable amount of heart and faith! Cant see it myself but i hope he does, good guy all round

I've heard that Williams has passed expectations and is doing better than anticipated. But if he were able to walk or even stand would be a major accomplishment. Recovering enough to train and do roadwork seems unreachable.

I think Scott9945 is right. The hope is that he will regain use of his legs and be able to lead a normal life. Few are realistically expecting to ever fight again.

Id be DELIGHTED if he could ever walk again, fighting again would just be a bonus
There was an article on his recovery in boxing news this week, they seem to believe (him and Mr Peterson that is) that because the column wasn't severed but only bruised that he will both walk and fight again and that it's a slow healing injury and they are on shedule. Paul is in rehab every day, was scuba diving the other week too and seemingly u just cannot get a complaint out of the man. I think I like him more now than when he was an active fighter!
Like I said though I think they are being a bit over confident and could be headed for a massive let down, then again a man with hope is a man u cant count out
