After a quick look, it appears as though they graduated from Kiev uni and Kyiv university, and completed their dissertation on sports science. Thus earning them PhDs

Yes they do. To be fair more fighters than you think are well educated. Although at the moment i can only think of devarryl williamson.

Shame more people dont know his story. Grew up dirt poor and moving around foster homes due to his parents involvement with drugs and crime. Was a top basketball and football player who played at collegiate level and had tryouts in the nfl. Started boxing at 25 and made the olympic team in two years, finishing his masters degree while training for the games. Became a top contender as a pro while earning a ph.d in a seperate field at the same time. I think he also did stand up but im not sure.
