  • Which Heavyweight Champs had the fastest hands ever?

Give a ranking of the fastest hands in Heavyweight history.
    Here is my list:

    1.) Floyd Patterson
    2.) Muhammad Ali
    3.) Larry Holmes
    4.) Mike Tyson
    5.) David Haye
    6.) Corrie Sanders

I would also mention Henry Akinwande - he had very fast punches too.
As for Larry Holmes: a lot of people remember the Holmes who was a little bit older, a little bit slower when he struggled in his later title defences. But a prime Larry Holmes had super fast hands - as can be seen in his fight against Ken Norton.

    Your list?

I was thinking about Roy also but he only had one heavyweight fight. And no disrespect to John Ruiz, but next to Ruiz most other heavyweight champs look super fast.

Sanders & Haye???? Don't consider them champs by any means, far to many second tier talents fell into the ABC's Titles, sorry those guys aren't on the same level as the others mentioned!!!

Ali is easily the fastest EVERYTHING as a Heavyweight! Ray.

we were talking about handspeed of heavyweight champions. Both Haye and Sanders were heavyweight champions at one point of their careers. And they both have super fast hands, we are not talking about "the greatest heavyweight champs of all time". We are talking about the fastest hands, can you see the difference?

I gave my opinion on hand speed its Ali and thats easy!
As to Sanders and especially Haye their Champs from a faulty system, they have some talents but both are second tier talents. Thats my opinion and you have yours! As for you telling me about hand speed thats hillarious!
Love to see you holding pads for Tyson!!!! Your wrists would be screaming!
              Ray

Imagine someone refering to themselves as the "Halls of Fame" maybe Flame?

Patterson and Tyson had more pop on their punches, but for pure handspeed it is Ali, and it isn't even close.

                  1. Patterson
                  2. Ali
                  3. Tyson
                  4. Holmes
                  5. Louis

Not going to list guys like Jones Jr. or Haye who were merely belt-holders, not world champions.

I do not know much about haye or sanders but I would add a prime mike dokes, the great joe louis, billy conn, gene tunney to round it out to a top ten.
