Lennox Lewis versus the Wladimir that beat Haye, who wins?

I'm talkin' bout the Lewis that beat Holyfield twice, up to when he beat Tua. Basically around the 33-35 year old Lennox, which was when he was at his peak.

I think it is difficult for either fighter. Wladimir on his day is hard for Lennox, Wlad has the quick feet for such a big man, and a quick enough jab. But I feel that Lennox has that 84 inch reach, he would be able to outjab Wladimir. The jab is Wladimir's main tool.

Having said that, Wladimir has such devastating power, 1 punch knock out power. On Freddie Roach's twitter he said Wladimir hit harder than Tyson punch for punch. (though he said Tyson was quicker and more explosive.) So if Wladimir can land a big one he can take Lewis outta there.

However I would think Lewis would get the decision, because I think he would outpoint Wladimir, rather than the chance of Wladimir getting that big 1 punch. It would be close though. Possibly 115-113 Lennox. (but on all 3 scorecards.)

I just cant see Wlad lasting with Lewis. Lewis was stronger so Wlad's clinching BS wouldnt be as nullifying as usual and Lennox was a Far better inside fighter too. He'd be at a reach disadvantage as u say and likely lose the battle of the jabs on the outside, Lewis would also be more free swinging with the right than Wlad. We talk of Lewis as having a bad chin but it's a decent one in truth, not granite by any means but solid enough. In comparison Wlad really is packing some china. The Stamina and endurance is with Lennox too. LL was just a stronger, braver, tougher and better fighter.

Lewis's athletic abilities would be the difference! Other than that I think their pretty evenly matched! Ray.

Lennox by early murder. Wlad then sends his big brother to get another face vag.

I can't picture Wlad making it through twelve rounds with Lewis without getting lit up. Lewis and Wlad are both skilled heavyweights who use their size to impose on opponents while limiting the risks they take. When paired against each other I think they force one and other to open up since neither can jab, jab, jab - cross, jab, jab the other completely into oblivion. That said Lewis is the more skilled fighter of the two and I think his big overhand right will eventually land on Wlad and put him down and out.

While Wlad does have excellent power, he's not at all the type of guy to open himself up enough to get a one punch KO victory in that type of fight. He's not that type of fighter. He won't take any risk of getting countered by going all out on a punch like that, and doesn't open up until he knows that his opponent is already beaten. Lewis wouldn't fall into that category at all, thus a one punch KO is really out of the question for Wlad. If anyone gets a KO like that, it would be Lewis who is the more versatile of the two, able to box and brawl.

I see Lewis taking it in a pretty close fight that is nonetheless won clearly by Lewis winning the exchanges and forcing the fight when necessary. He would probably be the one pressing things and winning the exchanges with the cleaner, harder shots and if he doesn't KO Wlad, then I'd see him winning a close, but clear, UD.

We've seen Lewis in with guys similar to Wlad and how he reacts, and wins, but we've never seen Wlad in with anyone nearly as skilled or with similar physical gifts as himself. I think he'd struggle when put under the pressure of someone as big, and as skilled but with more versatility, able to press, box, and brawl when necessary.

The key factor to me is Lewis's edge in versatility and ability to take a shot

both fighters generally stay outside, try to dictate the fight with the jab and their size in a relatively cautious matter.

I don't think either would be able to establish an advantage over the other with their outside game. I'm also going to figure that both would be very cautious initially. Lewis could build a lead by getting shots in when they get close and tie up. He is much better than Wlad in exchanges like this. Ultimately that would lead to Lewis winning a close but clear and unanimous decision.

One big unknown is how Wlad would react to being slightly behind with Steward in his corner circa 2011. I could see him opening up slightly at the urging of his trainer in order to close the gap. If the fight got more open Lewis is better able to handle the hard shots that almost inevitably would be exchanged. So I could see a Lewis late stoppage, but who knows what Wlad would actually do.

Wlad would have a fair chance, cant dismiss someone with that amount of power, speed and size. Gotta favor Lewis though.

you have to favor lewis, but I think it would be tough, wlad has massive power and good speed so he could catch lennox but in three fights I'd be surprised if Lewis didn't take at least two of them. Better on the inside and I wouldn't be surprised if he proved to be better on the outside too.

Worth noting too that Lennox has a good record against big guys.
